Here’s a sample of music from our amazing composer for Disrupt, Maree Sheehan.
Maree’s music and love for the story about a kuia refusing to give up on her P-addicted moko, added an extra emotional layer to our film.
Hailing from Ngāti Maniapoto-Waikato, Ngāti Tuwharetoa and Ngāti Tahu-Ngāti Whaoa, Maree helped pave the way for women in the New Zealand industry in the 1990s by breaking the singer-songwriter mold and bringing homegrown dance-pop to the foreground.
She is now making her mark in film composition and we are grateful that Maree is part of our Disrupt whanau.

We are pleased to announce that Disrupt has been selected for the 2021 New Zealand International Film Festival, as a finalist in the Ngā Whanaunga Māori Pasifika Short Film Competition.
It will screen at major centers across the country from the end of October. To celebrate, we’re releasing the trailer. Have a watch!
This passion project, about the P epidemic in Aotearoa, would not have been possible without the dedication from our cast and crew, our funders Ngā Aho Whakaari and our Boosted donors, and our sponsors, Cordis, Auckland, Image Zone Naati 4 Life St John Ambulance, and Wireless Rentals.
