NEWS UPDATE: March 16, 2020

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: WSB TO POSTPONE ALL BATTLEGROUNDS QUALIFICATION EVENTS FROM MARCH UNTIL MAY
A message from WSB Founder and hip hop impresario Marco Andre Selorio

“MAS and WSB Management will officially postpone all WSB ASIA/ Battlegrounds-related qualifiers from March until early May across Australia and the Philippines until further notice.

The travel bans and social distancing have been put in place by the Australian and Philippine governments. We are following government directive and advice from the Department of Health.

Our Philippine events management has already postponed competitions in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Australia is now following suit.

WSB/Battlegrounds is one of the most popular street dance competitions in the Southern Hemisphere. We pride ourselves in delivering great family events as it brings plenty of joy and opportunities to the youth. We had been eager to continue our expansion through the creation of WSB Asia qualifiers in Sydney and Perth as well as five regional qualifiers in the Philippines.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus and COVID-19 is a highly contagious illness that has no cure nor vaccine available at this stage.

It would be irresponsible and unethical for WSB to put our competition ahead of the safety and health of all our dance athletes, crews, competitors, supporters, our WSB production staff and audience.

Hence, our decision is purely based on the health and well being of all the participants and their supporters, family and friends.

Any other competition or dance event that tries to do so otherwise is not only endangering the lives of dancers, they are also increasing the risk of spreading the coronavirus into an already anxious community. That is not our prerogative.

We look at the implications of what has recently happened in American sporting competitions such as the NBA, NCAA, MLB and NHL. We commend them for putting safety first. We can only learn from those experience.

There will be a major financial hit to our company and employees but we will try to absorb the losses as much as we can. Health and family come first, everything else is secondary.

In the hope that the coronavirus gets contained or slowed down in the next few weeks, WSB will assess our situation. We err on the side of caution. In the meantime we will closely monitor any developments and update you regularly.

We hope and pray that everyone stays safe, well-stocked and in good health.

Newsflash: POP KULTURE CAMP (PKC) TAKING OVER IN OCTOBER

MAS Presents in collaboration with Icon Media is excited to announce the arrival of POP KULTURE CAMP (PKC) on October 1-4 at Blacktown Workers Club. The brand new platform takes over from DanceCon with the addition of social media influencers and Hollywood choreographers and superstars.

The Pop Kulture Camp (PKC) is an exciting platform that brings together dancers, artists and social media influencers under the one roof. PKC will help develop the mindset and branding of each participant, with dance workshops, creator panels, keynote speakers and showcase opportunities for all.

NEW YEAR. NEW WSB CHANGES

Happy New Year!

We welcome 2019 with open arms as we kickstart the new year with a series of cosmetic changes to World Supremacy Battlegrounds.

Firstly, we are revamping our website to create a more interactive and updated page that would allow us to connect with dancers, crews, artists and influencers. We want to keep you updated with the latest news, notes and quotes about WSB worldwide. Our design team are working on the website and our YouTube Channel (maspresentshd) this month. Rome wasn't built in a day, so we hope to share some good news in the coming weeks.

MASPresents will produce 30-40 WSB/Battlegrounds events in 2019.

WSB will launch three WSB IC Intercontinental Championships in Australia (October 4-6), Africa and Asia. We will also have the respective WSB qualifiers that would allow all participating teams to join all three championships. Dates for Africa and Asia will be announced soon. Qualifiers will launch across New Zealand, The Philippines, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Solomon Islands, Sierra Leone and Thailand.

WSB will also launch WSB X in Melbourne in partnership with Ego Festival (February 15-16) and during Vivid Festival (June 2-6). This unique innovation will feature an elite selection of freestyle dancers and artists in a concept battle event.

A spin off dance event is coming to a school, city or province near you. Keep an eye out for NU JAM SHOWDOWN. More news will be released next week.

Lastly, we are coordinating a year-long series of events under the "Black Gold" Campus Tour, featuring a showcase of our amazing stable of talents and influencers from WSB, WSB X, Sovereign Hill Records in various schools, malls and corporate performances. Stay tuned for this exciting new tour.

With a multitude of projects and events, WSB is opening up more opportunities for all its participating competitors, current or past champions and our featured talents this year.

We are starting up our own MAS talent agency and launching Urbanstar/Sovereign Hill Records in the Philippines in 2019.

MAS is looking for unsigned influencers, DJs, rappers/MCs, dancers, aspiring models/vloggers and singers in the Philippines. Kids/teens/adults, any age it don’t matter but you must have the talent, the fire, attitude and work ethic.

We are organising some big things and major tours next year. If you got the talent, come and apply.
