As we slowly get back to living life, reinvigorating people through collective physical activity, the NDMC, in collaboration with St+art, @afd.city and @asianpaints have initiated a move towards normalcy in the form of a guided cycling tour.
‘Cycles4Change’, part of the nation-wide India Cycles4Change challenge by the Smart cities mission is being held over a span of 9 days, till October 10th, and will be open to all cycling enthusiasts.
The pilot demonstration covers six kilometres, starting at Bikaner House at India Gate and reaching Jor Bagh metro station via Lodhi Garden. To bolster the spirits of participants and make their route scenic, St+art has transformed the entire stretch into a work of art. Through vibrant colours and shapes painted along the way made by our artists @bykhatra and @shabbu_artiist we hope to encourage you to come out and take part in this initiative in a safe and responsible manner.

Fosun Foundation still manages to turn heads (literally!) for design lovers. The artistic structure is a cultural center which is a part of the larger financial hub. The 420,000 square meter masterpiece is located on the banks of Huangpu river and is created to connect the old town and the new financial district while being highly permeable for pedestrians. The moving curtain-like facade of bronze tubes resemble giant pieces of bamboo paying tribute to the Chinese culture and arts. These tubes hang in three layers, creating a veil that moves vertically around the outside of the building, altering its shape. There are 675 individual magnesium alloy tubes that range in length from 2 meters to 16 meters to create the visual effect.

"Influenced by the materiality and scale of the existing historic buildings along the Bund we have built a series of simple office, shopping and cultural buildings that combine high performance glazing systems with hand carved stone building frames," says Heatherwick. "These structures in turn surround new public spaces and speak to the heritage of the historical Bund buildings."
