Ester Exposito | "It’s fun to do romantic scenes. It can be fun, depending on the partner you’re doing them with. It’s important to have a tight relationship with the other actor or actress so that you can both feel comfortable and have fun with each other. It’s always uncomfortable in some kind of way because there are like 40 people surrounding you while you’re taking your clothes off or kissing, and that, of course, is not the most comfortable thing in the world."

"Objects talk—they give me information on how they were used. To me, they’re portraits. So I went on a 12-year hunt to produce documents that are now portraits of my heroes through their belongings. Yes, 98% of my heroes are dead, but you know what? As a young photographer—when I was 20, 25, 30—they were still alive, but I didn’t have access to them. I never photographed Warhol. James Dean died when I was too young. Elvis, the same. I did a portrait of my heroes in still life. Again, objects talk to me, these are not still life. These are portraits." -

I just think the schooling system didn't really suit me and I was just a bit hyperactive. And I think I was raised with incredible female role models but also I went to an all boys school and was an athlete and I didn't realize I was really sensitive and emotional and creative."

It’s strange to describe, but I look back at the times when I lived in Mexico City or Argentina, and it feels like I died and had another life and then came back.
