In the year 2015/2016, 1,780 Teaching and non-teaching personnel appointed. (1,249 - Male, 531 - Female) - Among the 1780 personnel appointed, 904 - Central, 332 - Eastern, 286 - Western and 258 - Northern regions respectively. According to research, information attained from headteachers show that there is increased regular attendance in Universal Secondary Education Schools because students are not sent back home due to the inability to pay school fees.

In 2018, schools under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) sat more students for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) than non-UPE schools; 476,130 (or 70.9%) out of 671,923 candidates. It was another sign that it was as right to start UPE 20 years ago as it makes basic education accessible to every child. Following the launch of Universal Secondary Education (USE) in February 2007, enrolment at Secondary School level has witnessed rapid growth. Enrolment for S.1 to S.6 rose by 34% from 954,328 to 1,284,008 students between 2007 and 2015. The introduction of UPE led to a significant increase in the enrolment figures in the primary sub-sector, catapulting from 3,068,625 to 8,264,317 (4,122,663 [50%] boys; 4,141,654 [50%] girls) in FY 2015/16. The Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda established new schools and training institutions at all levels, constructed new classroom blocks, workshops, renovation and expansion of existing facilities resulting into improvements in the pupil classroom ratio from 72:1 in 2007 to 63:1 by 2015. By 2017 Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda experienced an increase of 13.5% in total enrolment in secondary sub-sector from 1,284,008 (675,163 boys : 608,845 girls) in FY2015/16 to 1,457,277(765,406 boys : 691,871 girls) in FY2016/17. Because of covid 19 pandemic 350,000 private school teachers have been suffering financially since their employers could not continue paying salaries. The Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda is grateful, that his excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ordered the ministry of finance planning and economic development to release 22 billion grant to support these teachers in close to 13,000 private schools.

The Minister of education and sports her excellence Janet Kataaha Museveni has affirmed that she is following up on this issue until all private school teachers affected have access to these funds.

Since 1998, Uganda Police established a child and family protection unit (CFPU). The CFPU protects children from being abused; and Probation Officers working under the CFPU are empowering children to ensure that they do not fall victim of early marriages and pregnancies (in the case of girls). Additionally, regional child rehabilitation centres were established and they helping reform unruly and street children. The program is under the Ministry of Education and coordinated by Uganda Police.

PRIMARY SCHOOL PARTNERS AIDED BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
According to ASC 2017 Government aids 4,667 Church of Uganda primary schools, 4224 Catholic primary schools, 33 Entrepreneur primary schools, 947 Community primary schools,790 Islamic primary schools, 1046 Government primary schools and 152 Seventh Day Advanced primary schools.

12000 P.1 Wall charts, 12200 P.2 Wall charts, 61000 math charts and 12200 picture cards were supplied throughout the country

As we have all experienced when we were younger, learning with wall charts and picture cards is quite easy and interesting.

The ministry of education genuinely cares about every child enrolled in school and wants to give them the best opportunity to learn.

Under Uganda teacher and school effectiveness formed in 2015 the education sector provided 6,015,099 instruction materials to 12,198 primary schools in 112 districts.

The material included 4,720,041 copies of text books for upper primary and

753,114 P.1 primers, 541,293 P.2 primers supplied to 2656 primary schools under early grade reading.

For the period 1986-2004, enrolment in primary schools rose from 2,203,824 to 7,377,292 and 123,479 to 697,507 in secondary schools. Primary school enrolment increased from 3.1 million pupils in 1996 to 7.6 million in 2003 following the introduction of UPE.

On the journey to deliver on the promise to build a secondary school in every sub county and a primary school in every parish,117 sub counties received funds to construct 117 secondary seed schools 2018/19 and 115 secondary seed schools are scheduled to be constructed in 115 sub counties for 2020/21
