ANOKELO VILLAGE/CHURCH CENTENARY CELEBRATION: The Opening Ceremony

The people of Anokelo village recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of their village and church from December 27th to December 31st, 2023.

The event was organized by the church elders and the rising youth leaders who will likely become the future leaders of Anokelo Church. The purpose of this event was to give glory to God for His goodness and love since the church's establishment.

To provide a brief history, Anokelo Church was founded by Benjamin Ben Baura. After his return from the labor trade in Queensland, Benjamin Baura brought the gospel to Anokelo. He made several attempts to establish his church in different locations until finally settling in the current site of Anokelo village on October 1st, 1923. Over the years, the congregation grew, and some members were sent as evangelists to convert the pagan worshippers to believe in the gospel of Christ.

The original intention behind the establishment of Anokelo Church was for the people to worship the one true God, Yaweh, the creator of the universe, and forsake any other gods.
Any practices which do not please the Lord should be removed from the village or church and located somewhere else. This is to signify the standards of the Gospel.
The opening ceremony commenced with a parade from Fauabu playing ground to Anokelo. Throughout the parade, the congregation of Anokelo Church expressed their joy and gratitude to the Lord by singing the song "The Joy of the Lord is My Strength," which symbolizes their journey thus far. It is due to the joy and strength they derive from the Lord that they have reached this milestone.

The program continued until its successful completion, coinciding with the welcoming of the new year in 2024.

Tonight the Families of Anokelo local church has began their CENTENARY celebration with the tributes.The tribute has started with the Families who stays at home and will continue with the Families who resides in honiara by tomorrow 28th December 2023.

The ordination of Father Victor Kona has been held at Saint James Ailali Village,his own Village.
The Blessing of this newly Ordained Priest has been done by the Reverend Bishop Michael Bebeu of Malaita Diocese.

This ordination was the second Ordination Father Reverend Bishop Michael Bebeu conducted after he had ordained as the Bishop of Malaita Diocese.

In cooperation,the churches within the community worked together to make the program successfully done. The full-time commitment of this program has laid upon the shoulders of Marodo Youths, more especially those in Abuisaie,Ailali and Asia.
It is obviously that this ordination program was hosted by the Body of Christ (One new man in Christ) not only the Anglican churches within the Ailali Parish.

Upon the Message of ONE NEW MAN IN CHRIST these youths practically put it into practice, believing that this is the season that God is preparing his Bride,The Church, where by all these denomination barriers will be removed someday.

The participation of the program reach as far as Sisifiu Parish,Lautolo Parish,Fouia Parish and Ailali Parish itself.

This song came to me back in june 2013 during one Foundation course at our home when we had a break for the afternoon session.It came to me about the context of our location. We are located in a very low and lonesome valley surrounded with hills.We are the people of MARODO Tribe.The tribe by which her story is well known in the country for her Foolishness😢💔😭 in the past.We are nothing and our picture is painted black.Though we are not many yet some still wanted to surve two gods but God Almighty still overcome victories for us.
Gathering all this In my mine this song then came live to me that it is by him (Jesus) that our lives began to change,we survived to this days and our history began to change by his grace and favor.The other Two verses revealed later in 2014.
