Season Greetings Women of Asphalt, California Branch,
The Women of Asphalt, California Branch leadership committee is pleased to invite you to attend an in-person look into the most prominent entities within the roads and highways infrastructure, Caltrans. The Sacramento Caltrans laboratory has invited the WOA, California Branch to get an up-close and personal look into a few of their facilities on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 3pm. Ms. Jackie Wong will lead the group through some of the testing laboratories. We welcome you to join the leadership committee and wear an ugly Christmas sweater during the tour. The committee would also like to invite you to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to a local charity.

Below is information about Caltrans and the tour:
Caltrans manages more than 50,000 miles of California's highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies. Caltrans carries out its mission with six primary programs: Aeronautics, Highway Transportation, Mass Transportation, Transportation Planning, Administration and the Equipment Service Center. Their HQ Transportation Laboratory campus encompasses over 170,000 SF and houses several laboratories that support the Project Delivery Program through Design and Construction.
The tour will be approximately 60-90 minutes and will include the following laboratories located on campus:
• Asphalt Binder Laboratory
• Hot Mix Asphalt Laboratory
• Aggregate Laboratory
• Concrete Laboratory
• Cement Laboratory
• Chemical Laboratory
