‼️DEADLINE EXTENDED‼️
🌟SUBMISSIONS DUE NOV 5🌟

CALLING ALL WRITERS AND ARTISTS!!

The very term “revolution” holds a dual weight—one of cyclical orbits and seismic shifts. In the vastness of the cosmos, celestial bodies revolve in their endless dance, governed by invisible forces. So too do our lives take cyclical paths.

There is a quiet strength in equilibrium. In the vastness of change, what grounding forces keep you centered? What pivotal axis does your life spin upon? Is it the job you clock into, the loved ones you come home to, or perhaps the dreams you’ve yet to chase? Is this what you want your world to orbit?

Alternatively, revolution can mean a defiance and breakage of orbits, a force of its own that can shake societies and reform cultures. What revolutions are you a part of? What orbits in your life are you trying to break free from?

For this edition, REVOLUTION, we ask you to reflect on the gravitational catalysts and invisible threads connecting us all.

We publish short fiction, poetry, visual art, interviews, essays, and probably that other weird, formless, uncategorizable thing you’re planning on making, too. Our publication features contributors from the pan-Asian diaspora. Submissions are now open until October 29th (link in bio). We can’t wait to see what you’ve got.

🚨DEADLINE EXTENDED!!🚨We will be accepting submissions until THIS FRIDAY 3/24 @ 11:59pm!

The experiences in our lives do not begin or end. Memories bleed into the present. Identities intersect. Moments of joy and sadness are buried and reemerge as lenses through which we interpret what the world does to us. It’s all never really over.

The theme of this issue of The Wave is SUPERPOSITION. Take any of its above definitions, or create your own. What happens when identities layer one atop the other? We are interested in work that explores our layered world, the ways we move in it and the little collisions and contradictions that make it all up. Tell us about an impossible dream. Recount a time when you misremembered or misidentified something. Place two opposing thoughts right next to one another in a little cage like Beyblades. And then let it rip!

We publish short fiction, poetry, visual art, interviews, essays, and probably that other weird, formless, uncategorizable thing you’re planning on making, too. Our publication features contributors from the pan-Asian diaspora. Submissions are now open until March 20 (link in bio). We can’t wait to see what you’ve got.

Calling all pan-asian writers, artists, and creators!! Submit to our Fall 2022 Issue Legends by October 18th 💫

Legends is a way for us to reflect on the stories that mold us and continue to mold us.

We are each a mosaic of the places, experiences, and people that have come before us. Whether they are family anecdotes, cultural or religious lore, or tall tales about places dear to our hearts, The Wave invites you to explore the stories that make up who you are in our Fall 2022 issue Legends.
