Today is National Anthem Day

Francis Scott Key wrote a poem about the American flag flying over Fort McHenry in 1814. He was inspired to write the poem after seeing the American flag still flying over the fort. “The Star Spangled Banner” was signed on to be America's national anthem in 1931.
The tradition of placing your right hand over your heart during the national anthem began in 1942. Today, the song is played at official events, schools, and sporting events.
I don’t know about you, but tears seem to well whenever I hear the words “please stand for the national anthem.” and don’t stop until we’re done.

The View from Del Rio

The View from Del Rio first hit mailboxes in July of 2015. This professionally-designed, monthly social newsletter, is delivered to over 500 homes in the Del Rio neighborhood of Modesto. It is full of resident-submitted pictures and stories, very similar to digital social media, but in print. Stories about kids, pets, athletes, and families help turn the neighborhood into a genuine community of friends.

In 2018, The View from Del Rio became the official newsletter of the Del Rio Property Owners Association. We are always looking for great businesses to introduce to this wonderful community.
