Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo Launches 2023 Farming Season at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka

Mr. Governor, who was represented by Mr Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim on 15th/6/2023, got the ever-enthusiastic Anambra farmers excited with his entrance into the venue.

The number 2 citizen of the state was welcomed by the Anambra State Deputy speaker Rt. Hon. Pius Okoye, State Chief of Staff,Head of service, State Chief protocol, Commissioner for Agriculture and other commissioners, TC Chairmen, councilsof Traditional rulers led by Obi of Onitsha HRM Igwe Alfred Achebe. Other Members of House of Assembly were also present.

Soludo’s government Quells Decade-Long Clash Between Omor And Anaku Communities Over Boundary Dispute

The Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim said this to representatives from Omor and Anaku communities today being 23/6/2023 during their appearance before the State Boundary Committee. Omor and Anaku communities have, for decades, been embroiled in conflict over land ownership and boundary placement.

The hearing for the dispute began with opening remarks by the SA, Boundary, Ekene Okoye. He introduced all present:

Awka Capital Elite Defeats Okpoko All Stars FC At The Opening Ceremony Of The Anambra All Stars Games

The Anambra State All Stars Games kicked off on Sunday 25th June, 2023 at the Awka Capital City stadium. The Governor of Anambra state, Prof Charles Soludo who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim was there to Flag off the Opening Ceremony of the Competition.

The Stadium which was filled to maximum capacity had football fans and dignitaries present to watch the teams open the floor for the tournament.

The All Stars Games is a competition between football teams from the 21 local government in Anambra state with each team comprising of retired football players and athletes. The Competition is scheduled to last for a month.

State Commissioner Rescues Pregnant Woman From Domestic Violence

A pregnant woman Nebechi Achụ from Isuofia who was beaten mercilessly by one Chukwuemerie Anunobi a native of Aguluezechukwu both in Aguata Local Government Area has been rescued by the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare Mrs Ify Obinabo.

The rescue was as a result of a viral video on the internet where Nebechi was struggling for her life after the incident.
