De La Soul is an American hip hop trio formed in 1988 in Long Island, New York. They are best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics, & their contributions to the evolution of jazz rap & alternative hip hop.

The trio released “3 Feet High and Rising” on March 3 1989. With its playful wordplay, innovative sampling, & witty skits, the band's debut album, has been called "a hip hop masterpiece."

“3 Feet High and Rising” was selected by the Library of Congress as a 2010 addition to the National Recording Registry, which selects recordings annually that are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.

That same week in 1989, musical duo Mili Vanilli released their US debut “Girl You Know It’s True.” The album brought them international success, selling 6 millions copies & earning the duo the Grammy for Best New Artist. Shortly after, their music career would become infamous once scandal broke out.

How come both of these albums are not available in my streaming services? Why does Judd hate Hip Hop album skits? If it’s not my responsibility can I blame it on the rain?

In 2006 Amy Winehouse released her second & final album. Winehouse based her sophomore album Back in Black on her turbulent relationship with her feckless, deadbeat & destructive ex-boyfriend.

Four days later America's most famous feckless, deadbeat & destructive ex-boyfriend Kevin Federline a.k.a. K-Fed released his debut & final Hip Hop album "Playing With Fire". Universally lambasted by music critics & a massive commercial disappointment. The album has gone on to garner the reputation as one of the worst albums ever.

How was Winehouse inspired to write her hit single "Rehab"? Why did K-Fed dub himself America's most hated? Who is the pancake man?

Judd and Pedro are back to a time where real men used mascara & lots of hairspray, 1987. Guns N Roses 🌹 releases Appetite for Destruction. It topped the charts & became the best-selling debut album of all time.

We compare it to Twisted Sister’s Love is for Suckers. A commercial flop that resulted in a promotional tour ending after a month & contributed to the break up of the band. What happen? Why was GnR dubbed “the world’s most dangerous band”? Did they actually record a groupie’s or**sm?
