When we asked Tony Dow, who portrayed Wally Cleaver, one of the 20th century’s most iconic teenagers, about the attention to detail on Leave it to Beaver he credited director Norman Tokar, whose notable work with young actors on that set caught the attention of Walt Disney; Disney then hired Tokar to direct a slew of family films for Walt Disney Productions from the ‘50s to the ‘70s.
