The second case we covered here on this show was the murder of a young teacher named Bonnie Huffman in 1954. This happened right outside of Delta, Missouri. If you guys know me, you’ll know that this is a case that’s very close to my heart. Several good suspects over the years, several good leads, but never any conclusions. Never any real answers. I’ve been looking for this magazine for a really long time. The magazine covered what happened to Bonnie, published in 1958. One of our amazing listeners sent these pictures to me. It makes me happy to be able to share these with you, and to be able to keep Bonnie and her story alive in some way. If you haven’t heard of this murder, I’ll leave a link below to our episode from last year. It will give you the basics. If you have any information that could be helpful in this case, please contact the Cape Girardeau Sheriffs Department.

In today's update episode, we will share with you new details concerning how Law Enforcement came to look at Bernard Glueck as a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of June 19th. We will also share with you how in the course of reporting on this case, we have now begun receiving threats of murder from an elected Scott County Public Official. Witness intimidation, victim shaming, threats of murder from elected officials, join us today as we discuss all the new twists and turns of this case.

On Sunday, June 19 at around 10:51 p.m., police say they received a report of an attempted kidnapping in the 1200 block of South Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. According to Cape Girardeau police, the suspect was described as being around 50-60 years old, between 5-feet, 6-inches and 5-feet, 10-inches tall with an average build and large stomach. He was clean shaven and had gray hair that partially covered his ears. They said the suspect was driving a newer model, dark blue, single cab truck that may have had yellow lights on top of the cab. The victim, a 19-year-old female, was helping a hurt animal in the road when the suspect reportedly approached her, hit her in the face and then tried to pull her into his vehicle. Police say the victim was able to fight off the suspect and shout for help, which made the suspect flee the scene.

This is Lisa Ann Carnes. She was found murdered on March 30th 1984. Her body was found in a field in rural Massac County near Macedonia Church road and U.S. Highway 45. We were recently asked by a friend of the family to take a look at Lisa’s case, and like many of the cold cases we look into that happened before the dawn of the internet age, there is very little information available online about this case. However, there are possible connections with this murder and another from right here in Cape Girardeau County. Connections that have to be looked at. Coincidences and similarities that have to be explored. Regardless of the out come of searching for answers with the links between these two cases, the family of Lisa Carnes deserves justice. They deserve answers. And they deserve to know that Lisa isn’t forgotten. That her story will be told. Below we are sharing a quick write up of the particulars that are known of her case, coming from missingillinois.org. If you have any information that you feel could be of help in this case, please contact the Illinois State Police at (618) 845-3740 or message us here on our fb or email [email protected]

Let’s share with everyone we know and see if we can shake something loose to try and help this family.

Lisa Carnes was reported missing March 29, 1984 about midnight. It was never stated what happened the day she vanished, other than her leaving her two young children at home with her mother. Lisa lived in Stumptown, a part of Karnak, with her husband Earnest “Little Beaver”. She was the daughter of General Hill of Grand Chain and Margaret Hill of Karnak and a 1976 graduate of Century High School.

The next afternoon, Lisa’s naked body was found near Macedonia Church Road and U.S. 45, near Mermet Lake.

Lisa’s pickup truck was found parked about thirty yards from the intersection of U.S. 45 and Illinois 169, about four miles away from where Lisa’s body was found. According to the 1984 article, the truck was not out of gas and there were no signs of mechanical problems.

Lisa’s clothes were found between the pickup truck and County Road 1150 along the west side of U.S. 45. A substantial amount of blood was found on the back porch in an uninhabited home on the Louie Sielbeck farm.

About 3:15 P.M. her body was found a quarter mile away. A man named Ralph Kruger found her when checking on his land across the road. Her body showed minor bruises which may have been caused by falls while running away from her attacker.

The autopsy showed Lisa died with a bullet entering her back striking her lung then exiting through her upper chest. The bullet came from a small caliber pistol.

Police then believed she ran toward the uninhabited home for safety, running away from the attacker and continued running when she realized no one was there. It is believed she then continued to run across the field toward a light in the distance. Lisa’s body was found in an open field.

Why has the state of Missouri declined to pursue perjury charges against anyone and everyone who committed this crime? It is not enough to just find Josh innocent. It is not enough to just let him out of prison. Those guilty of wrongdoing must be held accountable, and going after those who lied to help convict an innocent man would be a great place to start. The Lawless Files is doing a great job of keeping this case in the public eye, and hopefully those who deserve it will someday find some form of justice.

Announcement: 50k reward for information

It’s been 39 years today since Deborah Manning was found brutally murdered on County Road 249 near Chaffee, Missouri. This is a case that has always gotten very little attention in our area. A cold case can be very frustrating in that way, no media attention, no new leads, very little physical evidence remaining to work with. This case is not your typical cold case though folks. There were two witnesses on that road that night. Two people who we believe know more than they have given. There is also DNA evidence, evidence that with todays modern technology could be utilized to help bring this family justice. We here at Crime Talk Radio have been investigating this case for over a year now, and the circumstances involving the murder of Deborah Manning have started to really come into focus. This is not a case that should remain unsolved. The pieces of the puzzle are now collected, and just need to be assembled correctly to bring a killer/killers identity to the public. That is where you guys come in. Over the last year, we have had an overwhelming outpouring of help from you, the public. So many tips, so many people reaching out wanting to help. With everything involved, we believe that the Cape County Sheriffs Department is just a few pieces away from being able to solve this case, from being able to finally bring justice to a family that has waited 39 years too long. However, we need your help to push this case over the edge. To help us finish the race. We believe there are at least two individuals still alive who could give information vital to solving this case. Information that could blow this case wide open. We believe there could be other individuals also who have information pertinent to helping this case. Trying every method we have so far and having no luck getting these particular individuals to come forward, we thought we’d try something tried and true. So, with the help of a local member of the community who wishes to help seek justice in any way possible, we are announcing a fifty thousand dollar reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case of the murder of Deborah Manning. Fifty thousand reasons to reach out and clear your conscience. If you have ANY information that you feel could be helpful in bringing this family justice, please call the CGSD line at (573)243-3551. If you do not feel comfortable working with Law Enforcement or have issues regarding staying anonymous, reach out to us here on FB or at our email, [email protected]
It’s been 39 years too long for this family, 39 years of waiting. If you know something, come forward and help bring the justice to Deborah that is deserved. If just simply to do the right thing wasn’t enough, you now have 50k reasons to do so. Please share this with all of your friends on social media as well, so that hopefully the right people see this information and come forward.

A massive search begins, but sadly, four days later Amber's body is found in a local creek. The suspect, a white or Hispanic male has never been located. On July 15, 1976 the unthinkable happens. In the small town of Cowchilla California, a school bus loaded with 26 students and one bus driver simply disappears. With little clues and the parents of the community in a panic, members of local and the federal government quickly launch the largest search in California state history. Authorities are shocked when the next day the students and bus driver suddenly reappear with a wild story of being buried alive by three kidnappers. The questions mount fast. Who are these kidnappers? Where are they now? And why would three men kidnap a bus full of kids in the first place? The answers to these questions come more quickly than anyone could imagine, and tell a tale of greed, desperation, and sheer determination. All three kidnappers are sentenced to life in prison for their part in this crime. As of 2022 though, two of the men have been paroled early, and now the last man has finally been granted a release from prison. Did the parole board make the right decision? Is it justice that these men are now and will be soon free and walking among us once again? Join us today as we discuss this very controversial decision.

On August 24th, 2019, Madison "Madi" Robinson is enjoying a day of food and fun with her family at the their home in the 900 block of Jefferson St in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. An altercation earlier in the afternoon with a girl from the neighborhood had gotten tense, so everyone had made their way inside the house at the request of Yameka Robinson, the mother of Madi. Yameka ordered a pizza and went to take a shower while Madi and several others were talking and waiting on the front porch for the pizza to arrive. At this time a vehicle drives by the Robinson home firing several shots in the direction of the house. Madi is wounded in the neck, and does not survive the shooting. Within hours, local law enforcement identify and arrest the shooter, a man named Isaiah Lane. The families hope of receiving justice for their murdered Madi would be short lived however. Inexplicably, a few short months later in November of that same year, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Angel Woodruff makes the decision to drop all charges against Mr. Lane, citing lack of witness cooperation as the main factor in her decision. Witness tampering, lack of motivation to prosecute, and missteps made by law enforcement leave the investigation into the murder of Madison Robinson in shambles. Will her family ever receive justice? Will the citizens of Cape Girardeau ever get justice for Madi?

Next Friday, April 15th, we will be hosting a live call event at 7pm with our friends over at Trucks 4 Kidz, covering the case of missing Bianca Noel Piper. We will have a phone number available for the public to call/text during this live event with tips, questions, comments, or just to chat with us in general about this case. Bianca disappeared on 3/10/2005 from Foley Missouri under extremely odd circumstances. She has never been seen or heard from since that day. Bianca’s name was one of 44 names of missing persons found on a list on the computer of serial killer Israel Keye’s after he was apprehended by law enforcement, also known as Namus44. We encourage you or anyone you know who may have interest in this case to please participate in this live call event to help us bring awareness to her case, and try to bring closure for her family. While it’s been 17 years since Bianca went missing, there are still those who haven’t heard her story, this is our chance to change that. We look forward to talking with you live next Friday. Stay tuned for more information about this live call event.

There are things that upset you, and then there are things that make you so upset that it shakes you to your very core. For us, this is one of those things. The fact that this man is walking around free after committing this murder is not just a miscarriage of justice, it is a slap to the face of the very citizens of Cape Girardeau. Madison could have been your daughter, she could have been my daughter. Seeing as this man is still roaming the streets, our children could very well be next. Please share. We will be releasing an episode covering this story on April 24th, 2022. Our prayers go out to the family of Madison Robinson, and until this family receives the justice it deserves, we will never stop marching for Madi.
