Being a startup is difficult under normal circumstances. There are challenges with funding, client acquisition, building a strong team, and so on. But, what happens to local startups when a worldwide pandemic hits? In today's episode, Eric Westerduin and Joe Walther join us to talk about Calvin's Craft Cookies. Calvin Craft Cookies is a Charlotte, NC based startup that is creating a snack that is better for our dogs and environment by using upcycled brewer’s grains and simple, human-grade ingredients.

Eric Westerduin is a lifelong serial entrepreneur and former investment banker, Eric was motivated to find a way to utilize the massive amounts of spent grains and reduce waste from the craft brewery boom in Charlotte.

Since Raleigh CrossFit opened its doors 10 years ago, Chennelle Miller, co-owner of Raleigh Crossfit, has never had to close other than the occasional snow day. Now, Crossfit gyms around the state have been closed for nearly a month and unsure of when they'll be able to reopen.
