After enjoying my first glass of bubbles at The Diamond Works, I was transported back to 1872 through their VR experience 🥂

I found myself at the iconic Kimberley mine, surrounded by the sights and sounds of history. The experience was incredible 🥹 mining my own diamond and seeing how these gems were unearthed gave me a newfound appreciation for their journey.

What stood out most was the authentic archive imagery and artefacts, brought to life with the help of the Kimberley McGregor Museum 📚 Learning about the Cape Malay Camp and its role in shaping South Africa’s diamond industry added a deeply personal layer to this historical encounter.

It’s more than just VR and bubbles though ☺️ it’s a chance to step into the past and witness a key chapter in South Africa’s story. Would you give this a try?

For a true culinary adventure, Haiku’s menu took us on a flavourful journey through Asia 😌 We started with delicate spinach har gau and savoury mushroom potstickers 🫠 each bite packed with rich flavours. The Rainbow Reloaded sushi roll was vibrant and refreshing as expected, a real treat for the senses 🍣

For mains, the sizzling chicken arrived hot and aromatic, perfectly complemented by seasonal greens and Cheng Yuan Fish 🥰 Pairing it with egg-fried rice brought everything together into a balanced, satisfying meal, and to round off the experience, we enjoyed a glass of Tokara Chardonnay – crisp and dry, it was the perfect match for our dishes.

And dessert? The banana crepes were an unexpected treat – crunchy on the outside with soft, cooked bananas in the middle 🤭 I never thought I’d see the day I enjoyed cooked fruit, but wow, this was amazing! From start to finish, Haiku’s menu had us savouring every bite. What’s your plans for dinner tonight?
