Hi Facebook Community,
I am seeking investors for my upcoming independent short film, Fire at Will, a dark comedy about parents who gather their four adult children over dinner to solidify the family will.
We have cast the formidable Scott Cohen (Billions, The Americans, Gilmore Girls) the hilarious Amy Stiller (Severance, Law & Order, King of Queens), amongst Lucas Zelnick (currently on a national stand-up tour, performing a sold out show at Netflix is a Joke), Ellie Sachs (starring alongside Richard Kind in Proof of Concept) and Rebecca Gever (performed her solo show lemons Off-Broadway as part of UnitedSOLO).
Through a combination of grants and private investors, we have raised $24,000! That is truly amazing and I feel so humbled to have such an incredible network. However, we are still looking for an additional $16,000 to get us across the finish line.
In addition to opportunities to invest directly, we've also partnered with Film Independent as Fiscal Sponsors so individuals have the option to donate to an established 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization and receive a tax write-off. If your employer matches donations to nonprofits, this would be a great time to make use of that. :)
We are one month out from shooting and aiming to have our funding finalized by April 30th.
I’ve always had a hard time asking for support, especially when there is so much going on in the world, however, I’ve come to realize that film has the ability to speak to people in a way that other mediums can’t. Growing up, I rarely witnessed families like mine portrayed on screen (loud, proud, and unabashedly Jewish). In Fire at Will, we aim to celebrate this existence, inviting everyone over to our dinner table.

Thanks for your consideration in supporting our film.
When the children’s self-absorbed agendas send the conversation careening into chaos, a desperate battle of wills ensues. As the Greenbergs argue about the future of their estate, the dinner table becomes a battleground of sibling rivalry and everyone is left questioning their place in the family.
