My water dressed up as coffee for Halloween! 🎃 👻
I dont always drink dark roasts, but when I do, they look delicious.
Got my james hoffman great american taste test kit! Excited to taste the same stuff as the king and see where my preference is now.
Latte art looking crisp this morning! And the coffee so delicious.
Matcha face off! Yuuki midori vs Tenkei tori. The tenkei tori comes in a cool tin inside a shiny box. It is already my favorite. 🤣
Data and coffee!
Umm. Its a swan?
Today's coffee. Square mile red brick. Cremina profile.
Coffee. This is the way.
Another day another coffee. 😀

Coffee Time☕️
Coffeee time!
A quick and easy guide to coffee extraction.
Flow:
Flow is the most important part to extraction and it comes down to one simple question, Is the water hitting all the coffee grounds evenly? The finer the grind the better your technique has to be to saturate all the grounds.
Coffee to water ratio:
Increasing the amount if water or decreasing the amount of coffee will increase the water to coffee ratio and increase extraction. While increasing extraction you can decrease the strength. Not the first variable to choose for increasing extraction in latte.
Steep time:
More steep time, more extraction.
Grind size:
Fine grind gives more extraction as long as you don't have Flow issues.
Water temperature:
Generally higher temp gives more extraction. This topic has some flexibility, but you can go in at boiling as a safe start.
Coffee beans:
Usually dark roasts extract easiest, but for this guide just know beans extract differently. Finding a nice blend that extracts easily is the best thing for super automatic machines.
Too much extraction is bitter, under extraction sour. You now have the keys to dial it in to your preference!

Press button and amazingness ensues! Cremina lever profile increases pressure and then slowly declines.
Pulling a beautiful shot of cafe kreyol desert zombie on the decent de1 using the cremina profile. #espresso #satisfying #coffee
Round 1 battle 6. Peets major Dickenson vs gourmet farms barako. Close battle that probably came down to whole bean vs drip grind. The coffee Republic has brewed up some nice lattes for me using peets so there is some bias. Gourmet farms barako is not batangas barako, but I like their coffee as it is nicely roasted. #coffeenreels #coffee #latte
Round 1 battle 5. Sf bay hazelnut vs zekes royal blue. The mild aromatic hazelnut coffee took the win. The royal blue is a little too dark. #coffeenreels #coffee #latte
Round 1 battle 4. Good and gather double chocolate vs gourmet farms phillipines civet coffee. For one of the cheapest k cups you can buy it isn't bad. For chocolate k cups I do like timothys or aldi brand. It was no match for this variation of kopi luwak. Very mild and smooth coffee. #coffee #latte #coffeenreels
Grinding some coffee for the upcoming coffee battle. Zekes royal blue. #freshcoffee #coffee #coffeegrounds
Round 1 battle 3. Inn keepers special stash vs kalinga brew hazelnut. The iks coffee came from a bed and breakfast in the Philippines. Not sure what it is exactly, but it is ground extra fine. The grind size doesn't lend itself well for the aeropress and brew method of the competition. Kalinga brew is a pour over coffee that I emptied from the satchel. For a flavored coffee it doesn't taste very artificial, but it is robusta beans so the flavor is rather harsh. #coffee #coffeenreels #latte #coffeetasting #coffeelover
Battle two in round 1. Bali blue moon from river bottom roasters a local maryland roaster versus San Francisco Bay espresso. Both were very pleasant to drink, but the Bali blue moon has a tastier bolder flavor profile. The same unque note was present in the aroma as well. Sf bay had a tall ask going against a whole bean coffee. A solid choice for k-cup users. #coffeenreels #coffee #latte #coffeetasting #foodie #coffeelover
Faceoff between the donut shop k-cups. Nutty caramel vs chocolate glazed donut. These things smell amazing, but don't taste much like coffee. Nutty caramel took the win with a slight edge in flavor. #Coffee #coffeenreels #latte
