The name “Electric Grinch” pays homage to a popular venue on Erie Boulevard in the 80s. The will host live music, serve hot food and also has a giant back patio that will be heated in the winter 🔥

Anybody want a palm tree? 🌴 Head over to they’re selling their trees ahead of the winter!

From The Shaker and Vine:

“We have palm trees that will need a home for the winter. Do you have a space with tall ceilings and adequate light? This is what you will need to own a palm tree! They will need to be stored inside during the colder months, and then they can be enjoyed by your pool or in your yard during the warmer months.

$150 each. $125 per tree if you purchase five or more. $100 per tree if you purchase 10 or more.”

Schenectady’s Lady Liberty is officially back home in Liberty Park 🗽

Boy Scouts installed this statue here in 1950, and the city named the park “Liberty Park” in honor of it. The statue was eventually relocated in 2017 while renovations were being made on the block. It was finally retuned to its home base earlier today and will now prominently greet everyone coming to the Electric City for many decades to come 👋

When you visit the new Jay Square, you will notice four trees — one planted on each corner of the park. These trees were planted in honor of the four lives that were lost in a horrific fire that engulfed the two buildings that once stood here in 2015.

While this park was built from the ashes of tragedy, these trees will help keep the legacy of these four individuals alive in spirit and in name 🌳

Welcome to Jay Square — The newest park around Schenectady 🌳

This accessible park is officially open to the public. It features Dr. Seuss inspired signage, outdoor seating and tables, a small stage, and a plot of grass for events and a place to relax during the Schenectady Greenmarket 🛍️

Check it out today across from City Hall! 👀
