The political developments in Rivers State have taken a new twist with the endorsement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the political leader of the state by former Governor Peter Odili.

Dr Odili gave the endorsement today at the commissioning of a Primary Healthcare Centre donated by his foundation in his hometown in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area.

He praised Governor Fubara for defending the interests of the people and encouraged the governor to maintain this alignment with the President and his policies to attract federal government attention and support to the state. He also emphasised the strategic importance of Rivers State, warning that if the state sneezes, the entire nation catches cold.

As a well traveled adult in Nigeria, I can swear that the Igbos are the most business oriented people in Nigeria.
There is no industry in Nigeria that Igbos are not actively playing in. Infact, every other tribe has left electronics, spare parts and furniture for them.
They are that dominant. They did not come this far because they are emotional about business. They are succeeding because they are smart and it is that business wisdom that brought them this far after they were given £20 pounds after the civil war.
Also they know the value of money because they work hard for it.
All across the world they are traveling to do business and creating more ties to their local industries back home. There will be no Nigerian economy without the Igbos.
That is why I’m laughing at those that are saying we should pay 400k more to Fly Air peace instead of Virgin Atlantic, because my Igbo brothers traveling to UK for business will not spend that N400k extra. They did not become this successful because they spent more money when they can spend less.

I am very surprised that a lot of people are just learning basic economic principles of demand, supply and price.
If Ibinabo, my brother is selling local bread for N500 and Samuel, who I don't know is selling same bread for N350, I will buy from Samuel.
It is called price action.
Humans will always go for something cheaper that offers same value.
That is why it is called Capitalism.
Some people around my age or older than me remember when MTN said Sim card cannot be sold lesser than N15k.
Glo came and sold sim card for N2000 and that's how the price of sim card dropped.
MTN was doing per minute billing. Glo came with per second billing.
MTN was selling recharge card from N750 and above, Glo sold for N500.
You are enjoying better network, cheaper data rates, cheaper sim card because of competition.
Glo is a Nigerian company. MTN is not. But you still use MTN because of better coverage and network. Not because you don't love Nigeria or you hate the owner of glo. You use MTN because of better service.
When you want to book flight to UK, you are free to pay more on Air Peace, it is your money. Let others pay for cheaper tickets.

Air Peace is not responsible for the fall of international fares.
The dollar was trading at nearly N2k/$ early this year and is currently trading at N1k/$.
Last month, CBN cleared all FX backlogs being owed to international airlines hence the fall of international flight fares.
I paid N2.9m for a return ticket to Nairobi from Lagos in February for 2 people with Ethiopian Airlines.
The current price is 2.2m.
Is it Airpeace that made them to drop the ticket price? Air peace does fly to Nairobi or Addis Ababa.

Someone drowned.
He was rescued and taken to a mortuary without a doctor’s assessment- only to be found not to be dead.
Then from there he was taken for “rituals” before a river god.
This is “emergency response” offered by strangers to a victim of drowning in our country.
Imagine a drowning dying person being taken from mortuary to ritualists - when he should be in an ambulance to the emergency room of an equipped hospital.
