DISCOVERING YOUR CAREER.
From my personal experience, careers are discovered in two ways.
1. Some are decided quite early during the childhood, pre-teenage and teenage years. Here, career path is figured out before the university. These individuals go ahead to become what they had dreamt of. They become Lawyers, Medical Doctors, or Engineers
2. Some are decided in an emergent manner. For these category of individuals, they stumbled into their careers on their way to livelihood. At first, they are unclear as to whether what they are doing is their career, and may start off dissatisfied with it.
The second category is important. In a world where is disrupting the globe and shrinking competitive landscapes, most careers are just emerging.
I am sure that 20 years ago, there is no job called 'An Influencer.'
Asides that, I have seen people who never wanted to be tailors from school, who had their eyes fixed in what they considered loftier professions careers , make wonderful of their emergent choices.
Therefore, the key to finding a career for the second category of people is open-mindedness, commitment to lifelong learning and dedication.
The Good book said 'Whatever it is you find in your hand to do, do it diligently and with all your might.’
