Can I just say that I’m really happy with the result of this canvas print.

I have a website integration that allows me to offer my work as canvas prints (canvas prints are typically cheaper than originals, which means folks can get some of my original work at a price range that’s more affordable for them).

The integration also allows me to offer framed paper prints and various other items. Some of my work won’t be available as prints because I’m just not offering them but a lot of it is and the quality is 👌🏽 They also come ready to hang so you don’t have to worry about figuring out how to hang them.

Update:

My wall for Red Dot Miami has to be secured (chosen and paid for) by August 25th.

As of today, I’m about $570 into just paying for the wall. (The 4ft wall)

Securing the wall is my main priority. Getting there and saving for various other expenses associated with this trip will get handled.

I’ve still got quite a ways to go but I’m confident I’ll get there!

Last month Arts One Presents and Children's Safety Center of Washington County hosted an artist reception as a way to allow folks to connect with the artists behind the works that were chosen for the CSS new building!

I've been sitting on this for a little while now. But I'm finally releasing the news! I've been invited to participate in Red Dot Miami during Miami art week this December!

Are you familiar with Miami Art Week? Miami Art Week is a week long celebration of art. It takes place every year in December and hosts fairs such as the well known Miami Art Basel art fair. This art week is an opportunity for major collectors to go and scope out emerging artists in the world of contemporary art! AKA, the perfect opportunity for artists to connect with, showcase to, and sell work to big collectors and curators! And guess who has an opportunity to go?! 😃

In the same way that I crowdsourced my way to Serbia in 2022, I am looking to do the same to afford my space at the Red Dot Miami Art Fair. Read all about the opportunity and how it came about on my Gofundme page!

One of my main goals on my creative journey is to connect with an audience and collectors outside of my local area. I fully and wholeheartedly appreciate and am grateful for everyone who shows me love and support in various ways locally, but as a business, I understand that to cultivate longevity, and create sustainability in terms of income, I need to connect beyond my local area. That’s why opportunities like these are SO important to me.

After going to Serbia, I realized that it’s 100% possible to get outside of my area with my art-to expand my reach-so I’m constantly looking for opportunities and taking risks to do so. So it’s pretty safe to say that getting to display at Red Dot Miami is very important to me. Miami is one of the top 10 cities for selling art!

That being said, take a minute to read about how my invitation to Red Dot Miami cam about and share it with others! Additionally, I am on the look out for opportunities for grants (such as the Artists 360 grant which I am applying for) to help fund my “Road to Red Dot”. This is going to be a fun journey, one that I am excited to embark on!

✨ I’m crowdfunding/saving coins to attend Red Dot Miami during Miami art week this December. If you’ve ever looked into displaying at this type of art fair your know they’re preeeeettt pricey-but I think it’ll be worth it!

✨ I have to pay for my wall for my art, get business cards made, get prints printed and framed, get some original canvases framed, put gas in the car to go to Miami (yes, we’re driving-I’d prefer to drive), pay for lodging while there, and a host of other things.

✨ So I decided to start a gofundme to help me along in my ! My goal there is $8,250. I’m about $160 and I’m honestly very grateful to even be that far into the journey. But I’ve still got a ways to go!

✨ I thought 💡 hmm, how I can give back to the folks who are kind enough to give to me 🤔 and the idea of a giveaway came up!

Mathing is interesting.
I was sitting here thinking about my Gofundme goal to attend Red Dot Miami-my goal is $8,250. So I was like what would that break down to amongst my followers on my art page? I have 744 followers. Let’s say all my followers donated $10, that would be $7,440.

I’m currently at $140. So add that to 7,440 and you get $7,580.

I feel like that just goes to show much small inputs from many people add up

Let me share a little more about WHY I actually desire to attend Red Dot Miami during Miami Art Week.

#1: I believe that in order to develop longevity and long term success, you have to reach audiences outside of your local sphere. Thousands of people from all over the country attend Miami Art Week, from collectors to curators to gallerists! Even set decorators attend these types of art fairs to source art for Tv and film (I know because I’ve connected with a few of them and asked where they find the art)

Longevity is possible for artists while they’re ALIVE and I believe it starts with getting outside of your immediate area.

That’s one reason for my desire to go to Red Dot-creating longevity for myself in my artistic practice.

I’m $140 into my goal! And I’ve decided that once I reach $500 I’ll be doing a giveaway for prints and artwork 8x10 and smaller. Only those who have donated will be eligible for said giveaway!

This past Tuesday the Artist reception for the Children's Safety Center of Washington County-celebrating the art and the artists that contribute to the energy of the new center!

Really fun time! I got a chance to talk about how my piece was a piece that I live painted at a children’s event and how it feels pretty full circle having it in this space!

The safety center is officially a collector of my work! How cool!!

Fun fact: the wall that it’s on in the center is the outside wall of the office of a really sweet woman named Elizabeth. She said when she looks at my piece it reminds her of space! She also told me that she went to space camp - so did I, in 6th grade lol!

A fun time indeed! A fun time with amazing art!

Consider this your invite to the artists reception today at the Children’s Safety Center! This reception will be celebrating all the beautiful art and artists whose work has gone into creating such a safe space for many children and their families!

As someone who worked in a children’s shelter for 3 years, I am honored to have my work in a space dedicated to the kiddos! The safety center, with the help of Arts One, acquired art from me (and other artists) last year for the opening of this new space!

This event is free, open to the public, and will happen from 5pm-7pm!

Come mingle with us, view the space, and ask questions about the art and the artists!
