After a year as a successful bi-monthly night at East London’s Genesis Cinema, OFN has become One Fluid Night LGBTQIA+ FILM FESTIVAL: a full weekend celebration of q***r cinema, and now with the capacity to show feature films and documentaries as well as shorts.
Running 15 – 17 November, this extended 5th edition is also moving to the heart of q***r London because, for the first time, OFN will take place throughout Soho, with film screenings at Curzon Soho and the Courthouse Hotel Cinema, plus after-parties at venues including Louche Soho, The Yard, and Soho Theatre .
In addition to incorporating features, the 5th OFN will have its biggest-ever selection of short films. Altogether, 11 features and 113 shorts by and for the LGBTQIA+ community will be screened in cinema and/or online. With an international selection, the programme represents LGBTQIA+ stories from 34 countries.

Introducing Keyleen, a well influential judge for the 5th Edition of the OFN LGBTQIA+ Film Festival 2024.

Keyleen (they/he) is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker with over 10 years of experience, and they’re all about amplifying diverse voices in the industry. As a co-founder of the Q***r Filmmakers Network (***rfilmnet), they’re passionate about connecting and championing LGBTQIA+ filmmakers at every stage, creating spaces where q***r creatives can really thrive.

Known for working on their feet, Keyleen has put together all kinds of events—think TEDx talks, exhibitions, screenings, networking events, and workshops—bringing people together to build an active, inclusive community. Through their own projects and collaborations, Keyleen is on a mission to create a welcoming space where marginalised voices can finally be given a platform to be heard.

The Opening Night, Friday, 15th Nov

The evening begins with a red carpet check-in, registration, and a welcoming drink at Curzon Soho (99 Shaftesbury Ave, London W1D 5DY), followed by screenings of the French story Embrasse-moi by Hristo Todorov and the Austrian sapphic rom-com What a Feeling by Kat Rohrer, with a Q&A session featuring the directors.

The festivities continue with a glamorous premiere launch party, hosted by the incredible and charismatic Debbie Del Rey, performing along with Drama Latina, Lola McQueen, and the acrobatic Meduza Has Been. The night proceeds with a live musical extravaganza inspired by iconic performers, featuring West End stars Emyr and Bryony, at the vibrant Louche Soho (5 Greek St, London W1D 4DD).

Introducing Luis Prieto, a well respected judge for the 5th Edition of the OFN LGBTQIA+ Film Festival 2024.

Spanish director Luis Prieto graduated in 1994 from the prestigious California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles. His multi-award-winning short film ‘Bamboleho’ won over 45 awards at international festivals, including Best Short Film at the Tribeca Film Festival (New York) and a Special Jury Mention at the Venice Film Festival in 2002,
and was also nominated for a Goya Award.

To date, Prieto has directed seven feature films, including ‘Kidnap’ with Halle Berry, ‘Shattered’ featuring John Malkovich and Frank Grillo, ‘Pusher’ starring Richard Coyle and produced by Nicolas Winding Refn, and his latest film ‘Last Stop: Rocafort Station’, set to premiere soon on Netflix. As a documentarian, he helmed the feature-length documentary on the 2016 U.S. presidential elections, ‘The Disunited States of America’.

He has directed several television series, including the Netflix show ‘White Lines’ starring Laura Haddock and Daniel Mays, and ‘StartUp’ featuring Martin Freeman. His other television work includes ‘The Oath’ with Sean Bean and ‘Snatch’ starring Rupert Grint, among others.

Introducing Nina Novich, an aspiring judge for the 5th Edition of the OFN LGBTQIA+ Film Festival 2024

Nina Novich is a Swiss/Bosnian trans actress based in London and Zurich. She completed her acting training at the Giles Foreman Center for Acting in London. After graduating she played roles in Marvel’s ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Kingsman: The Beginning’ and is currently working on producing her first short film.

Nina also worked as theatre director and producer and she also gained experiences in Casting whilst working for Nancy Bishop on international projects. She speaks German, English, Serbian, a bit of French and Russian.

Introducing Daisy Friedman, a prominent judge for the 5th Edition of the OFN LGBTQIA+ Film Festival 2024.Daisy Friedman (she/her) is a writer and director based out of New York City Her history as a multi-organ transplant recipient has drawn her to create work that centres on the intersections of tradition, intimacy, embodiment, and disability. Her short film, ‘As You Are’ (2023), has screened at prestigious film festivals such as Frameline, Inside Out, Outfest, The Chicago International Film Festival, and The National Film Festival For Talented Youth. The film has received numerous awards such as the U.S. Narrative Short Grand Jury Prize Special Mention at Outfest 2023 and the NewFest35 Emerging Filmmaker Award. Her work has been featured in Deadline, Variety, Advocate, and Out Magazine. She recently received the 2023 Colin Higgins Youth Foundation Grant. She is currently in post-production for her second short film, starring Danny Burstein and Olivia Nikkanen. Cast your vote and help determine the Best Fluid Story of the 1st Edition of the OFN Short Film Award. Your involvement adds an exciting element of audience participation, ensuring that your preferences and opinions shape the outcome. The film with the most votes will receive a CERTIFICATE and a CASH PRIZE, acknowledging the hard work and creativity of the filmmaker. This event will be hosted by the charismatic Debbie Del Rey, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the night.
