Bought this 1980 Ford Courier a few years ago. It was in rough shape and had only been driven out on the farm.
The previous owner left it out in the field for years. With some finesse and a new battery, the mighty Courier would still turn over, but was undrivable. Many times the truck would just cut off, none of the electric worked (lights, horn, & safety features), didn’t have any functioning brakes and the steering and alignment were all corrupted.
After towing this beauty home, we went to work and rebuilt and replaced the entire braking system. Ensured our steering and alignment was corrected. Gave the Brown Beauty some new shoes (tires and shocks). Next we focused on her diet. Got all the fuel issues fixed (fuel pump, carburetor, etc…) and then we focused on the central nervous system.
We ensured all the safety features were working properly (break lights, headlights, horn, turn signals etc…) Now being road worthy, I’ve been driving it at least once a week and enjoying this wonderful truck.
Recently replaced the starter and it’s cranking like a champ! I always keep it in the garage and only take it out on sunny days. The rust has not spread and has been contained to the areas when i bought this beautiful truck.
Reason For Selling: we’re planning to get a new car and we just don’t have room. i refuse to park a new car outside and i also refuse to park this beautiful truck outside. So rather than build bigger barns, hoping to find her a new home who will care for her and enjoy her for as long as the both of you shall live.
