Usually, Niah is still asleep during our morning drive, but today is one of those rare mornings when she's awake and in a playful mood. I played the Disney playlist, and the "I See the Lights" Rapunzel OST began to play. Niah started singing inaudibly, and whenever her dad and I attempted to join in, she insisted with a firm "Niah," signaling her desire to sing solo. Upon parking at Tita Jane's house, she, as usual, approached the driver's seat, gestured, and requested "more," expressing her wish to continue singing. However, since we were running late, we told her that she could continue her singing session with her babysitter, Tita Jane. Initially hesitant, she eventually agreed. Her dad escorted her to Tita Jane and informed her that Niah wanted to sing. Perhaps it was too early, or maybe Tita Jane wasn't in the mood yet, as she responded nonchalantly with an "Ok." So without any expectation whatsoever that our daughter’s simple request be granted; off we went to our next destination, and after a few minutes, we received videos of Niah and her ate Sachi enjoying an early morning videoke session. <3 Even while driving, I couldn't help but burst into happy tears. These small acts of love toward my child have a significant impact, especially on me as a working mom. We feel blessed to have a second parent for Niah who genuinely loves and cares for her, filling in the gaps in our parenting.
