Torretta Pepoli in the mist.
Erice (TP), thanks to its location on top of a mountain, is very often shrouded in fog. With its medieval buildings, fortified walls and a castle, it makes you feel like in an old fairy tale or legend (or on the set of Harry Potter 😂🧙).
I guess you have to admit that in this photo Torretta looks magical, right?

Via Maqueda, Palermo. Together with Corso Vittorio Emanuele, it marks the four historic districts of the city. Always crowded and noisy, it's the hallmark of the island's colorful and chaotic capital.

📋 In Sicily, it only takes a little to say everything 😊 Sicilians often don't say "no" but make the characteristic "ntzu" sound and everyone knows that any words are unnecessary 🤷‍♀️
This is an example of how Sicilians could communicate using only gestures or sounds. Sicilian speech is distinguished above all by one linguistic crackle that is virtually impossible to translate into Italian. It's a characteristic click of the tongue accompanied by an almost invisible backward movement of the head and it simply means "no".
This unique movement of the head backwards, rather than from right to left (or vice versa), is further evidence of the deep connection between Greece and Sicily.
Have you heard this typical iconic sound while in Sicily? Did you know from the beginning that it simply means "no"?

"Mìzzica" is an exclamation indicating surprise, amazement, irritation, annoyance, or disbelief at something.
It's usually used alone, instead of a whole sentence. It's probably a euphemistic camouflage for the noun "mi***ia", but is used when the situation and context call for more formality.

The Via Etnea is the main street of the city of Catania. This place of history and tradition was built relatively recently, after 1693, following the earthquake that almost razed the city to the ground. When the city was rebuilt, it was decided to build a road that would lead from the Cathedral (which was not completely destroyed) towards Etna, which towers over the city. The entire street is built entirely in lava stone of Etna.
Along the Via Etnea it is possible to admire Sicilian Baroque architecture, including palaces of noble families and many churches. Originally leading only to the then city gate, now extends for almost 3 km, running also by the Villa Bellini, the main garden of the city.
Today, Via Etnea is home to the social and cultural life of Catania's residents and visitors alike, with bars, restaurants, and stores lining the street and surrounding areas.

After a long break, we're back with ! 📋
The word putìa (or putìca) is used in Sicilian to describe a shop. It comes, like many other Sicilian words, from Greek. It was formed from the Greek "apotheke", meaning "repository, storehouse, warehouse".
At first it was a small establishment with commercial and artisanal activities, like the small store of a shoemaker, tailor or barber.
Over time, the meaning of the word expanded and "putìa" means a general grocery store where food products of any type can be found.
In Italian, the equivalent word is "bottega".
