“The Anomaly” won the Goncourt Prize, considered the most important literary award in France. The problem with that, is that my expectations are always too high. I start the book thinking that I am holding a book which will be passed on from generation to generation, be read and analyzed in 100 years and become what we call "a classic"....

Romain Duris has been for me one of the actors that made me love French cinema. And when I talk about French cinema, I’m not talking about the nouvelle vague but the modern French cinema. It is not only stupid comedies or family dramas. As Duris shows with his filmography starting in the early 90's , mainly in Cedric Klapisch’s films, it can be heartbreaking, funny, beautiful and most of all show some everyday truths that we take for granted.
On another hand, last year, I discovered Emma Mackey, the S*x Education’s star and I realised that Netflix could do some great stuff. Maeve represents the freedom that women are looking for in movies or series and seeing it on screen, on a widely watched platform such as Netflix is doing good to the evolution of cinema... And women.
I am more than excited to discover these two generations of French actors reunited in a film retracing French history around Gustave Eiffel's story. Martin Bourboulon is directing the movie and I can’t wait to discover this French biopic.

We are all wondering when this strange time is going to come to an end. The 21st Century's humanity is facing a situation that it never thought it would have to; being aware that we're all sharing the same world and that each one of us is playing an active role in the safety of one another. As I see a lot on social media : " [ 1,871 more word ]

New Year's Eve is around the corner and you either finally get time for yourself or working alone in your office. Either way, you have more time than the usual on your hand. If you're a normal person, Christmas movies are a thing that you don't get and you wish your Netflix homepage didn't look like a chick flick library due to these annoying movies. [ 846 more words ]

Photography, in my opinion, is a challenging space for art. Nowadays, so many people call themselves "photographer" just because they spend lots of money on an expensive camera that, yes, makes what they take aesthetically nice. But being a photographer is more than that, it's being able to see more than there is in front of you. For Tim Walker, making photography is "a kind of dream state". [ 1,070 more word ]

I've done a piece for the HuffPost France to introduce Sally Rooney to the French.

This month is Pride month. June has been chosen to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. The streets of the world are holding many pride events to spread the love and recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world. To follow the spirit, I share with you my favourite LGBT films that used cinema as a tool to open people’s mind and change things.

Becrit interviewed Cameron Post's actress Melanie Ehrlich and Boy Erased's co-producer and actor David Craig to know more about the rise of conversion-therapy in the past year.

“It is a completely different film with different themes, one was a work of fiction and the other based off of a memoir. The one commonality is they take place at conversion therapy facilities,” sa…

Alfonso Cuarón, took home his 2nd Oscar for Best Director. He gave The New Mexican Cinema its fifth win in the past six years.
