The government has released a set of four new labour codes which are all set to cause significant impact on how an employee’s salary and work week looks like. New labour law: 12 hour work every day, Four days’ work a week from July. There has been no official announcement yet on when the new codes will be implemented however reports say July 1 is the set date in all probability.
23 states and Union Territories (UTs) have already published the draft rules under the Code on Wages. When the codes come into effect, employees may see an increase in work hours, changes in PF contributions, a four-days work week and a decrease in the take-home salary. Under the new codes, an employer may allow their employees to work for four days instead of five in a week.

Agnipath Scheme Recruitment 2022 Registration: The Air Force recently released a detailed notification that lists out the eligibility criteria, examination fee, terms and conditions, age limit, medical standards, financial benefits including salary, insurance and the procedure for the Phase 1 and Phase 2 selection process.
The registration for the first batch of Agniveers- the recruits of the new military Agnipath scheme- for the Indian Air Force (IAF) begins Friday and the online examination will be held exactly a month later (July 24). "Registration process for the first batch of Agniveers will start from June 24. The Phase 1 online examination process would start on July 24. The first batch would be enrolled by December and training would commence by December 30," Air Marshal SK Jha said during the joint press conference of the tri-services held on June 19.

The Amar Jawan Jyoti flame at India Gate has been merged with the Eternal Flame at the National War Memorial, barely 400 metres away. This merger was accompanied by a military ceremony in New Delhi on Friday.

Inaugurated on January 26, 1971, by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi, the Amar Jawan Jyoti was constructed as a memorial for Indian soldiers who were killed in action in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. India's victory at the end of this war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

"It is a matter of great sadness that the immortal flame for our brave soldiers will be extinguished today. Some people cannot understand patriotism and sacrifice - never mind... We will once again light the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' for our soldiers," Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.

Diwali 2021: Is bursting of crackers allowed in your state?

Delhi : The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has issued a complete ban on the sale and bursting of firecrackers in the national capital till January 1, 2022.

Haryana : The Haryana government has imposed a ban on the sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in 14 of its districts in the National Capital Region (NCR) and imposed restrictions in other parts. The districts where a total ban has been imposed include Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Jind, Karnal, Mahendergarh, Nuh, Palwal, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak and Sonipat, as per the order issued by the State Disaster Management Authority.

Rajasthan : The Rajasthan government has permitted only the sale and use of green crackers this Diwali. The government has also issued the restricted timing of the bursting of crackers in the upcoming festive season.

West Bengal : The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) earlier said that green crackers will be allowed on the evening of Diwali and Kali Puja for two hours from 8pm to 10pm. Bursting of green crackers will be allowed for two hours on Chhat Puja from 6am to 8am, and for 35 minutes on Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Abortion allowed till 24 weeks of pregnancy in special cases

--THE GOVERNMENT has notified new rules under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Act, 2021 passed by Parliament earlier this year.

--Under the new rules, seven specific categories will be eligible for termination of pregnancy up to 24 weeks: survivors of sexual assault or r**e or in**st; minors, change of marital status during the ongoing pregnancy (widowhood and divorce) women with physical disabilities; mentally ill women; foetal malformation that has a substantial risk of being incompatible with life or if the child is born he/she may suffer from serious physical or mental abnormalities; and women with pregnancy in humanitarian settings or disaster or emergency situations.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the revised syllabus and exam pattern for the 2021-22 academic year. As per the revised curriculum, CBSE board exams have been divided into two terms in which, Term 1 exam will be conducted between November and December 2021 and Term 2 exam will be held between March andApril 2020.

CBSE Guidelines On Board Exam Syllabus And Term 1 Time Table

--CBSE Term 1 examination will be conducted between November-December 2021and the exam will be conducted in a flexible schedule of 4-8 weeks duration.

--CBSE has not announced the official dates for CBSE Board Term 1 examination but they are expected to release it shortly.

--The CBSE will prepare and send the Term 1 question paper to the schools and the paper will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on assertion reasoning-type topics.

--The CBSE Term 1 examination will be held within a duration of 90 minutes, that is one and a half hours. The Term 1 exam will cover half of the CBSE 2021 syllabus.

--Term 1 examination will be taken on the OMR sheet and the students’ responses will be scanned and uploaded on the CBSE portal by the school officials.

--CBSE Term 1 exam marks will be added in the CBSE final board result for the 2021-22 academic year.

--To assess the students of Class 10, schools will take three periodic tests along with activities like practical work, speaking, listening activities, projects and others as said by the Board.

--Class 12 internal assessment will be done on the basis of end of topic or unit tests, exploratory activities, practicals or projects.

--Schools will be required to upload all the marks scored by the students in the internal evaluation on the CBSE IT platform.

--Assessments, question banks, teacher training and other curriculums will be provided by the CBSE to the schools.

IGNOU EXAMS : Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will conduct the IGNOU June term end exams for online programmes (certificate and diploma) from September 27 to October 6. The IGNOU June 2021 term end exams will be held in two sessions, 10:30 am to 12 pm and 2:30 pm to 4 pm.

The IGNOU June TEE 2021 will be held in the online remote proctored mode. The students can appear for the IGNOU June 2021 term end exams (online programmes) from their home or any place of their choice.

The IGNOU assignment submission last date for June 2021 TEE was August 31. The candidates who have submitted their assignment work can check the IGNOU assignment submission status on the IGNOU official website.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called for a Bharat Bandh on Monday 27 September, to mark the first anniversary of the three controversial farm laws passed by the Centre last year.

The SKM has appealed to people to participate in the Bandh against the 'anti-farmer laws'. The Bandh has been called from 6 AM to 4 PM across the country.
