Human Experiments without Consent - Escape News Podcast [S2E1]
The Syphilis Experiment conducted in Macon County Alabama from 1932-1972, is one of the most notorious US Government experiments on humans. Also known as the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, doctors and educators studied the effects of untreated Syphilis in black men and left them untreated while pretending they were treating them.
Diseases are sometimes rampant human problems that require societies to work together to eradicate. Syphilis, the study, and its Guatemala counterpart, are discussed in this episode as well as the problem of AIDs and some common misconceptions and the hope to be without it someday.
