Pain, whether acute or chronic, is a regular feature of working in the commercial fishing industry. But fishermen are limited in their choices for pain management due to the nature of their demanding work. So, what can fishermen do when they are injured, but can't stay home to recover? How does pain management sometimes leave fishermen vulnerable to substance use disorders? In this episode, we hear from researcher Scott Fulmer who talks about the 'pain pipeline' in commercial fisheries.

My head hits the pillow, and I'm gone.” - John Corbin, Pacific Northwest fisherman, contributing to our 4th podcast episode on hydration habits along with Marion Edwin of WorkSafe in New Zealand and Maine dietician Hillary Pride.
