Stayed in bed all day today and managed to do it without guilt (yay!) for the most part.

But then I saw the time and realized I haven't done anything "productive" all day and proceeded to then feel slightly crappy about myself (still working on this, but hey, I felt no guilt for the most part which is a huge win for my recovering workaholic ass).

Anyway, I realized that I have go-to activities I do to instantly feel fulfilled and productive (which I also realized are some activities that lead to an overall fulfilling life - but this is a conversation for another day).

Give these a try and see how you feel about it!

I usually get post ideas fairly quickly. That's not the case today though.

I was having a hard time coming up with a post, so I found myself actively searching for an idea.

After about 30mins of active searching, I gave myself a 5-min break of nothingness and BOOM, I remembered the nature of ideas:

Ideas (especially exceptional ones) reveal themselves when your mind is at rest.

So today's post is a reminder of said nature.

Contrary to popular belief, discipline and freedom aren't enemies.

They have a symbiotic relationship.

Discipline provides the foundation on where true freedom can be built.

How?

By being disciplined in your actions, you can achieve a level of autonomy and control that ultimately allows you to pursue what matters most to you.

In short, practicing discipline in your actions will lead to freedom, and the freedom you gain will reinforce the commitment to maintain that discipline 💥

Today, I woke up with an intense migraine and my uterus feeling like it's Hulk's punching bag.

I took breaks when necessary. And decided to scrap my tiny tasks, and focus on doing my BIG or lever-moving tasks really, really well.

Today's post is a reminder for myself (and to you, if you relate) to be proud of both times when you show up feeling pumped and ready to conquer the world, and during days when you feel like absolute crap but showed up anyway.

You've probably heard the saying, "when one door closes, another one opens."

But sometimes, another door doesn't open when the one you wanted closed.

Sometimes, you gotta create your own door.

When directed towards a goal, obsession can be the ingredient towards achieving it in half the usual time.

For once in what seems to feel like a whole ass era, I don't relate to this meme.

I had more things to say about this, but because it's 10mins to midnight (aka when I'm supposed to be off my laptop) + my first attempt in posting this didn't push through + I wrote my post directly on Facebook, aka I can't copy paste the original post...

I'm gonna head straight to the point even though it doesn't seem to connect to the meme 🤣👇🏼

My siblings' reaction to the hand and body soap I bought today was "WOW!"

I went out to a health and beauty store with the intent to just buy lip balm.

But remembered that I've been out of hand soap for over a week and am almost running out of body soap, so I took some on the way to the cashier.

The items were necessities, but I was internally excited to get them home and in my bathroom (simple joys, yaknow?)

I went home and I excitedly showed the soaps I got to my siblings and they both lit up and matched my energy by saying, "WOW! Thanks, Ate!!"

The whole interaction made me realize how far my lil' family has come in terms of healing collective internal wounds... because I remember a time where soap and bathroom items were just seen as a chore, and nothing worth celebrating for.

And my favorite reminder from the interaction:

When seen from the eyes of gratitude, there truly is no such thing as a big or small win. Only WINS.

I used to take massive pride in being a "lone wolf."

Flexed it off like a badge of honor - it showed that I was independent and didn't need anyone to succeed.

I could do it all on my own...

Which I did. Loads of times.

(this is usually the part where i spout out something philosophical or thought provoking, but i am not in the mood today and it also just so happens that I am having one of those rare times where my mind thinks in Tagalog, so imma let that part of me loose)

So back to what I was saying... nakakapagod po gumawa ng mga bagay" ng magisa.

And for what?? Pride? Recognition? Papakainin ka ba ng mga yan??

Anyway, eto point ko:

Being a lone wolf will get you places, but finding and embracing a wolf pack (especially the right one) will take you farther than what you thought was possible.

If you want to live a non-average life:

• High income, while creating positive impact
• A chef's kiss physique
• Superb & quality relationships

Then it's obvious you have to do things that are outside (and beyond) average.

This reality is possible for everyone, but not all will act on it because we've been programmed to believe that the average life is the only thing we're capable of achieving.

ENERGY > TACTICS

This was what I noticed when I started painting again:

People can feel the energy you put into your work.

Whatever emotion and energy I had made a far greater impact than the tactic or technique I used.

Without fail, people who saw or came across my paintings would feel the remnants of the energy I exuded when I completed the painting. It's super fascinating to witness, and even more fun to hear their interpretations.

And I've found this to be true in business as well.

The products we create that are backed with the strongest good intentions can be felt by those who purchase and interact with it.

This just shows that the commitment, effort, and enthusiasm you dedicate into your work radiates outwards.

It doesn't only impact the quality of your end result, but also the way it influences how people (or your audience) perceive it.

Ultimately, whatever you infuse your product or venture is contagious and can be truly felt by others.

So be careful of what you infuse your creations with.

Are you in the right herd?

You'll know you are when you feel at home with the people you're surrounded by.

And if you feel like you aren't in the right herd, it's most likely not even your fault.

Historically, we were wired to travel in groups for survival, and to conform to the ways of the group so that we won't get any unwanted attention from anything that could kill us.

But now... we're so blessed to live in a time where online communities are around - different communities that can support your growth in whatever area of your life.

So you may be born or placed in the "wrong" herds. But if you're looking to live a life of full potential, it's your responsibility to search for and enter the "right" one.

Choose your herd wisely.

If you want to be part of a herd that strives to live in alignment, with authenticity, and one that is free from their invisible success blocks, join us here: www.facebook.com/groups/magicalbeans

Marj also just did a LIVE on transforming failures into success by breaking free from whichever herd you're in that's holding you back! Check it out in the group

You know that feeling when you listen to a song or watch a scene from a movie/series, and a particular line just sucker punches you in the gut?

I watched Arcane coz I was initially drawn to its art style, but I stayed for its storytelling and those sucker punching moments (and boy were they a LOT - well done, writers).

So here's my attempt in convincing you to watch the series based from these lines alone.

If you've seen it already, what's your favorite quote from the series? 👀

P.S. Lowkey thinking of compiling my favorite quotes that's applicable to business as well 🤔

It's insane that most of us operate under anxiety and aren't even aware of it, because of how much we've been programmed to believe the feeling was NORMAL.

I remember feeling a semblance of safety with specific people, but because safety was so foreign to me, I'd feel triggered by it instead. And so that manifested to me pushing people (I really cared about) away.

It was through reprogramming my subconscious and being around the right people that I finally accepted and embraced the gift of safety for the first time ever.

And it's been the most uncomfortable, yet rewarding roller coaster I've ever ridden on.

"How you do one thing is how you do everything."

I've heard this mentioned over the years, and it's pretty easy to understand - the way you show up for one aspect in your life, is how you would show up in another.

The best example (and possibly my favorite) thus far of this saying in action can be seen by the video below 👇🏼🤣

I was 12 when I decided to be numb.

To no longer feel emotions, coz they were unpredictable and they were messy (super angsty and emo of me, I know lmaoo)

I wanted to be void of emotion, because it seemed that it was the source of my suffering.

The memory of my 12-year old self making that decision came back to me when I watched the final episode of AOT Season 2.

"The world is cruel, but it is also very beautiful."

Besides how cool I think this particular scene in AOT is, I loved the deeper implications of what Mikasa meant when she said this.

You can't know joy without sorrow.
You appreciate the little things in life more, when you’ve experienced both sides of the "emotions spectrum".
You can be one thing AND another; the same way rain could be pouring while the sun is still shining.
The hurt and pain you feel or ever felt is a reminder of how vast our emotions are - we only hurt as much as we are capable of loving and feeling joy.

I used to think that emotions were the source of my suffering. But really, the true source was the judgment I placed on myself.

I labelled myself weak because I felt too strongly. When in fact, my emotions (and a healthy relationship with it) are what made me strong and resilient.
It's what cultivated my tenacity - the same tenacity that pushed me towards the goals I used to only dream about.
It's what made me experience all the different shades of love.

And I wouldn't have gotten to this point if I continued to choose numbness to avoid feeling pain.

So to my 12-year old self, thank you for choosing to close yourself off to pain, because you made me experience what it was like to live a life void of joy and love as well - and boy did I not like it one bit.

(P.S. not sure if this photo was when I was 11 or 12 😆)
