🇷🇴 Have you ever thought of visiting the Muntii Făgăraș (Mounts Făgăraș) ?

🛣️ One of the most famous roads in the world, the Transfăgărășan, is located there. It’s only accessible during warm months of the year. The famous British automotive journalist Jeremy Clarkson once referred to Transfăgărășan as „the best road in the world.“

🚗 To explore those mountains, it‘s better to have a car. Some tours are organized from Sibiu. We stayed in Făgăraș and we were lucky to find a taxi to go to the hiking paths.

🐻 There a lots of bears there, so take care! We‘ve seen one ☺️

🌊 Lacul Bâlea and Lacul Capra are two lakes that you can‘t miss. The first one is more touristic than the second one. It‘s a beloved place of Romanians.

🥾 There are a lot of hiking paths which offers great scenic landscapes.

🏰 Sighișoara is a beautiful town. You can feel the history walking there.

🚆 You can reach there by . The journey lasts around 3h from Brașov or about 6h from Bucharest.

🏰 This city is known for the Peleș castle. This castle is a stunning Neo-Renaissance palace known for its picturesque setting and intricate architecture.

🥾 This city was built at the bottom of the Bucegi mountains. It‘s a good place to stay to hike in this natural space.

🇱🇹 Have you heared of Kaunas, Lithuania ?

🏙️ Kaunas is the second biggest city in Lithuania.

🏛️ Kaunas, has a UNESCO World Heritage Site status for its well-preserved modernist architecture and urban planning.

🚉 You can go to Kaunas from Vilnius by train or by bus. It will take you around 1,5 hour.

🍦 And if you‘re looking for delicious ice creams and milkshakes, I highly recommend Gelato Archie !

🇷🇴 Have you ever visiting Bran where there is Dracula‘s castle ?

🏰 The castle is really beautiful and picturesque.

🚍 You can go there by public transportation from Brașov. You have to take the bus from the „autogara 2“. The bus company is Transbus Codreanu.

🤸 To avoid crowds, I suggest to go esrly in the morning, before the organized tours are heading to the castle.

🇫🇮 Are you searching for a city with many different faces ? So you should go to Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

🏙️ The architecture of Helsinki is quite modern. You can‘t miss the wonderful Lutherian Cathedral Helsingin Tuomiokirkko.

🏝️ Helsinki is also composed of few islands like the most touristic one Suomenlinna which was a historic sea-fortress.

⛪️ The Temppeliaukion kirkko is a church built directly into solid rock. This place is really unique. If you want to visit the church, you‘ll have to pay an entrance fee.

🚉 The public transportation system is really good. It‘s really easy to travel in Helsinki.

📖 If you are planning to visit Helsinki, I warmly suggest checking out the guide that the great wrote on .travel. She lived there for 6 months and provides tons of great advice.

🇱🇹 Have you ever thought of going to Klaipeda, Lithuania ?

⚓️ This city is located on the Baltic sea.

🏖️ Klaipėda's beach, offers beautiful sandy shores and a relaxing seaside atmosphere.

⛴️ To access to the beach, you need to take a ferry. The cruise lasts 10 min and the cost for a round-trip ticket is 1,50€ (in august 2023).

🇪🇪 My 10 recommendations for things to do in Pärnu, Estonia :

1. Go to the beach and have a walk and swim.
2. Visit the city center. Pay attention to the amazing architecture and the street art.
3. Walk along the Pärnu river.
4. There are a lot of sculptures representing elephants. Find them out.
5. Check if there is a live concert in Villa Ammende.
6. Visit the nature trail Pärnu Rannaniidu Matkarada.
7. Do some shopping in Siluett Eesti moe pood where they are selling clothes from local designers.
8. Have breakfast in Cafe XS , lunch in Wrapijama and a coffee/cake in Pastoraat Cafe .
9. Watch the sunset on the beach.
10. Relax in one of the parks of the city.

🇨🇿 Have you ever thought of visiting Olomouc, Czech Republic ?

🏢 Olomouc is a historic city in the Czech Republic known for its charming architecture, UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column, and vibrant cultural scene.

⛪️ For a panoramic view of the city, You can climb on top of St. Maurice Church.

🏨 If you‘re searching for a place to stay, consider the „Long Story Short hostel“. On top of having dorms or private rooms, they have a big terrace, a café and a restaurant. Those are also open to the people of Olomouc. Some events are organised like concerts, dance lessons, petanque…

🍦If you want to have a good ice cream, I recommend Tomivo gelato shop.

🍳 And for a coffee or breakfast, I recommend the beautiful place called Kafec.

🇵🇱 Do you want to visit a very beautiful city ? So you should go to Kraków, Poland.

🏰 Krakow is a historic and culturally rich city in Poland. It’s known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the Wawel Castle and St. Mary’s Basilica.

✡️ Don‘t forget to explore the historic Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. Once the heart of Jewish life in the city, it now boasts a blend of bohemian cafes, art galleries, and synagogues that narrate its intriguing history.

🏞️ Outside of the center, you may consider exploring the park Zakrzówek which is a former limestone quarry turned recreational area located. The quarry was transformed into a scenic lake surrounded by cliffs. You can swim there during the summer.

☕️ And if you want to have a good coffee, good pastry or good meal, heal to ! It‘s a beautiful place in the city center and the staff is really nice !

🇷🇴 If you want to visit the Transylvania region in Romania, Brașov is a good city to stay for a few days.

🚊You can reach Brașov by train from Bucharest within 3 hours.

🏙️ Brașov is really a charming city and captivates with its medieval allure and stunning natural beauty.

🗻 You can go on top of the Tâmpa hill by hiking or using the gondola. That’s where the „BRASOV“ sign is. From there, you can admire breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

🏰 From Brașov, you can visit the Bran castle also known as Dracula’s castle. It’s really stunning and picturesque. To go there, you can take a bus from the autogara 2 Transbus Codreanu.

🚍 On the bus line from Brașov to Bran, we noticed the beauty of Rașnov city. So after visiting the Bran castle we stopped there, visited the center and took the cable car to the top of the hill where the fortress is. To go back to Brașov, we took the line 130 till the municipal stadium, and from there few lines are going back to the center of Brașov.

🥾 Another possibility is to take the bus 20 from the station Livada Poștei to the ski station Poiana Brașov and then hike. We chose the blue circle path to the cave Peștera de Lapte and we continued to reach the view point Vârful Postăvaru. From there, we came back to Poiana Brașov following the cross red path. We used the excellent app “Mapy.cz” to follow the right paths.

🇷🇴 Would you like to visit a medieval city ? So you should go to Sibiu, Romania.

🏛️ The city's origins date back to the 12th century when it was initially established by German settlers known as the Transylvanian Saxons.

🚊 You can reach Sibiu back train. It‘s about 3 hours trip from Brașov, 5,5 hours from Bucharest.
