Students of Benjamin Bol Akok model secondary school of Aweil North county Ariath payam have protests for peaceful demonstrations against School head teacher Mr Atak Ngong.
Today students of Benjamin Bol school in Ariath came out with angry to lock head teacher Mr Atak in School office saying the head teacher was corrupt which lead to loss of school property and poor teaching in school.
Aweil North county commissioner Hon Kiir Chan Wol intervene and control the tension raise by students.
Currently the situation is normal and head teacher was taken to Gok-Machar for administration measure.
Aweil county is blessed to have such charistamic leader of people by people

President Kiir Wins Online Polls Election Survey

President Salva Kiir is winning an online poll organized by Garang John, a South Sudanese journalist-turned-critic of the regime in Juba.

The ongoing polls expected to end on Friday show President Salva Kiir leading by 46%, Peter Biar Ajak by 20%, and Dr Riek Machar coming third with 18%.

The ongoing poll shows:

He added that If no one meets the winning percentage, the top four candidates from this survey will be selected for a second round of voting next week.

Aweil priest gets 14 years on jail for ra**ng 2 alter boys

A high court in Northern Bhar el Ghazal State has convicted a foreign Catholic priest to 14 years in prison after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting two boys in Aweil West County.

34-year-old clergyman cletus Grush was arrested on the 29th February 2024 on accusations that he sodomized two altar boys , age 11 and 13 years, respectively.

He said to have committed the offence at the saints Theresa Parish on February 2024.

The priest was found guilty of abusing minors.

Speaking to eye radio earlier on Monday, his defence lawyer said he respected the verdicts but lamented that his client was not cross examined before the decision.

Advocate Andrew Mour Atak said the prosecutor didn’t produce any eyewitness before the court to testify to the allegations.

The court has convicted my client to 14 years in jail. I do respect that verdict, but I have my observation, and I am going to appeal against the verdict before the end of 14 days. "

The doctor was not summoned to court for cross-examination, and all the evidence brought against my client in court is just an allegation; there was no eyewitness."

He also criticized the court for using his client's confession to the police as a basis to convict the now disgraced man of God.

"We were not convinced by the court because of section 30 of the South Sudan Evidence Act, which says any confession made in a police station shall not be considered a confession by the court."

Atak said he would be going to appeal against the court's verdict.

Singer Larson told a Cairo-based journalist to see a doctor for defaming him by saying that he is from Abyei

South Sudanese singer Larson Angok has accused South Sudanese-Cairo based journalist Akok Captain of defamation after Captain referred to Larson Angok as being from Abyei, rather than his actual birthplace of Aweil.

The incident occurred when Captain was compiling a list of legendary Dinka musicians. Larson Angok, who is from Aweil, was included on the list, but Akok Captain mistakenly referred to him as being from Abyei.

Singer Larson Angok took offense to this and accused Captain of defamation. He posted on social media,

"Akok Captain should see the doctor. Otherwise the guy has intention to defame me indirectly."

It is unclear whether Captain made the mistake intentionally or by accident. Aweil News Agency has attempted to contact Captain for comment, but he has not yet responded.

Aweil North county commissioner Hon Kiir Chan Wol today called a meeting with county authority and all the organizing forces, payam administrators to address the problems facing the community in county level.
Hon Kiir highlight all the problem under county of Aweil North hence some people turned to robber other people's property Which is totally probhited.
Aweil North county commissioner Hon Kiir aware the payams administrators and county authority that the security is normal and tell the community to keep watch across the border of Aweil as it's our collective responsibility to report anything happens in security situation.
He also instruct payam administrator to pass the message to trade about high prices of commodities to be reduced.
County authority all give instructions to prevent night movement at all high ways with Ladies and night party are not allowed unless approval is made before party.
