Brian Froud is a very well known illustrator and conceptual designer. He is most widely known for his 1978 book Faeries with Alan Lee, and as the conceptual designer of the Jim Henson films The Dark Crystal (1982) and Labyrinth (1986). Brian Froud is often referred to as one of the most pre-eminent visualizers of the world of faerie and folktale.

The Dark Crystal is now on Sony Pictures Core to buy or rent on PS4 or PS5 consoles. Interesting to note is it is IMAX enhanced. Not sure exactly what that means but based on my quick look through it seems identical to the 4K Blu-Ray release

Happy four trine anniversary to The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the show that really took us to another world, another time.
A pinnacle moment in the the history of The Dark Crystal franchise, everyone who worked on the show just knocked it out the park with ten incredible episodes, its a show that holds dearly to me and one that I still have tiniest amount of hope that the stories that began in Age of Resistance will someday get its conclusion. It’s also the reason that the podcast is here, I know there is still plenty to discuss from the show and I’m sure we will in the future for many shows to come. For Thra - Philip

A great article from Forbes comparing two streaming television series shows based on movies from the 80's Willow and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Nice to read these articles knowing that the presence of Dark Crystal is still with us, even when it's been quiet for the franchise at times with general consensus from most articles that the stories continuation deserves to be told.

It's been almost three years since the shows cancellation and still waiting for the future when The Jim Henson Company will finally be able to find a way to tell that story.

Quote from Lisa Henson in September 2020: "We know fans are eager to learn how this chapter of The Dark Crystal saga concludes and we'll look for ways to tell that story in the future."

It has emerged that Disney's sequel series to 1980s sword and sorcery movie Willow cost millions of Dollars more to make than The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance which also recently rebooted a beloved fantasy franchise from the same era.
