On Dec 10, 2021 at 7:30 PST, can’t believe we are finally officially releasing First Born to our YouTube Channel (JAeD House Productions) and Vimeo! We are so grateful for our team, mentors, family, friends, and all of our supporters for believing in us because we couldn’t have done this film without everyone. We are also thankful for all of the film festivals that given us opportunity to share our film across the globe! Happy New Years everyone!!

2020 was definitely filled with many chaotic twists and turns that we never saw coming. From the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to being unable to walk the stage at our college graduation, this year was filled with uncertainty.
-
Despite all that, our team managed to complete this film and premiered “First Born” to our friends and family. Soon after, we were blessed with the multitude of accolades and acceptances into film festivals from around the world! Even though they were virtual showcases instead of live premieres, it was still an honor to be showcased into many prestigious festivals. Here’s to hoping 2021 grants us even more amazing opportunities!!

Happy to finally announce our inclusion into two more film festivals!!: Silicon Valley Asian Pacific Film Fest and SF Indie Shorts!

Right now the Silicon Valley Fest is currently live and available to view till October 10th. Also, this Thursday there will be a Directors Q&A with our very own as a panelist! There’s also an Audience Choice Award for the festival, so be sure to vote for us!

The SF Indie Shorts will open this Friday, with our Director taking part in another Q&A! This one will require a fee to attend.

During these past couple of months we’ve had the honor of being featured and accepted into these amazing film festivals.

We’d like to take this time to thank our SJSU advisors for guiding our film in the right direction, the production team for working their butts off to create this film, our families for sticking through with us from beginning to end, and all of our awesome supporters who believed in what “First Born” could become!

When making a short film centered around kung fu, the team really had to study the form! Some of the main sources of inspiration for how to animate kung fu were from the short “Batman of Shanghai” and the shows “Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra”!

After some thorough studying, lead animator did an animation test that incorporated some potential effects we might use in the film!

Over the winter, the leads of “First Born” worked on a proof of concept shot. This would help figure out the production schedule, how the workflow would need to be, and the overall look and style for the entire film!
