The Army decorates Christmas trees across the country.
Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City — On December 1, the Army commander led the simultaneous lighting of the Christmas trees of its Army units at the newly inaugurated Division and Administrative Coordinating Center (DACC) here.
The annual Army event was held at the new DACC area to symbolize that the Army celebrates the holiday season with its field units, according to Army Commander Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido.
The DACC is a facility that serves as the offices of the liaison personnel of the different Army major units to coordinate their different administrative requirements at HPA.
Originally adjacent to the old ASCOM compound, the DACC facilities are now located across the Army Recruitment Center compound along Lawton Avenue.
Aside from the Christmas tree lighting, the Army commander inspected the DACC area's add-on facilities, such as the water refilling station that serves free and drinking water to soldiers, as well as the modern laundry and dry cleaning facilities.
The commander of the Headquarters Support Group also reported that all of the streets within the Headquarters Philippine Army had been lit.
This year's Christmas lighting theme is "Kutitap ng Pasko sa Sundalo" (Christmas Sparkles on Soldiers), with a focus on the three Ps - Paglilingkod, Pamilya, and Pag-asenso.(Pau Dela Cruz)
