Steal my storytelling caption formula that will make your audience take action 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Storytelling is a powerful tool that helps you connect with your audience on a deeper level, and drives engagement and sales. If you find that your content isn't converting your audience into customers or clients, this may be your missing piece.

Below is my exactly storytelling formula that you can take and implement immediately. Looking for effective hooks (with built in post ideas?) Head to the link in my bio and grab my free list of 100 sweet hooks for captivating captions!

🪩 Steal this storytelling formula:

✨Hook: Make sure your hook is strong and tells your audience exactly what they're going to get. If it's geared directly towards your target audience, then there would be no way that they would skip over your post.

✨Relate: This is where you use emotional language. Touch on their pain points, let them know that you understand how they're feeling because you have had that experience too.

✨Body: This is the majority of your post. The actual story or value you want to provide.

✨Promise: This is where you paint the picture for them of the transformation that they want and the transformation you promise. How will your product or service take them from point A (where they are now/what they struggle with) to point B (the lifestyle, feelings, solution you promise.)

✨Call to action: You always want to end with a call to action that leads your audience to the next step of working with you. Whether you're asking them to DM you, go to your website, book a call, etc, you always want to ask them to take action.

A quote that always rings true for me is "a Sunday well spent brings a week of content." This Sunday after an amazing nights rest, I went shopping for new jeans, did a 60 minute float session, and then had the best massage ever! I went home and made dinner, read some of my book (Lessons in Chemistry is soooo good so far) and woke up this morning feeling so refreshed. It isn't always like this for me, but I'm trying to remember that wellness breaks (at any time) are crazy important. What is it that you need most right now?

It's National Margarita Day and while "personal page Laura" would NEVER let this pass without acknowledgement, I'm happy to announce that business page Laura wouldn't either. 🤣

In FACT, I love to tell the story of how Hype Girl Social got started, and wouldn't you know... there were Margaritas involved! 🍹

But seriously... I found a passion for design, social media strategy, and coaching when I was in network marketing. Being a team leader, coaching on content marketing and being the go to "designer" I realized that if I could do it forever, I would. It wasn't until margaritas with friends that the desire turned into more.

Let me stop here and just say that my friends are truly the best. They are supportive, loving, creative, fun, determined go-getters. They are the go-to crew that discusses ideas, not other people. I'm so grateful for them.

So what do you get when you combine the most supportive friends in the world, sharing your passions, and margaritas?? A LEGIT BUSINESS. 🤣🤣🤣

They believed in me before I believed in myself. They encouraged me to make it happen. They offered up themselves as my first clients. And without a doubt I wouldn't be where I am now without them. So here's to margaritas... lol jk... here's to my girls!!!

Wanted to drop a family pic over here because they're my favorite. 🤍

On the weekends you can find us taking day trips to check out breweries and kid parks, watching sports and/or working on our house. During the week, I put my homeschooling hat on and am so grateful that I get to spend all my time with my little chicken wings. It is straight wild over here, let me tell you. 🤣🤣 It ain't ever easy, but it's worth it!

Let's talk about work life balance...

If you don't know me, hi, I'm Laura!

I started my business back in 2021 as a social media management company. Over the last few years I've been really open to trying new things & letting my company kind of evolve effortlessly.

First came coaching which I have really loved. But, as a stay at home mom of two it's really hard to get on a 1:1 zoom while your children act like complete psychopaths. (Double tap if you get it lol.)

Next, I found branding, and my content kit offering took off. Seriously, put me in Canva and let me design things and I am *HAPPY.* I found that many business owners felt that they were missing a visual identity, and that moving forward they either didn't enjoy, have time for, or know how to create content consistently.

Then, there were websites & courses. Last year I took a coding class to learn even more about custom sites. As I built my own 2 courses (instagram with intention + niche marketing) I realized that I really am a fast learner that can get in there & figure just about anything out. Landing pages, sales pages, email marketing, video editing & recording, I've done it all. And I LOVE doing it all.

See I've always been the same at my core... I refuse to spend time at a job that I don't have a passion for. I refuse to just pay bills and die. I've dedicated the last 14 years since graduating college (omg what?) to figuring out how I can make a living on my own terms, & I think most entrepreneurs can relate to that. We'd rather work 80 hours a week for ourselves than 40 for someone else. 🙃

I've learned my strengths & my weaknesses, what lights me up & what feels too mundane for me, what my toxic traits are & how I can stay the course. I've always had a deep desire to help other people, but for a very long time I didn't know how to wrap all this up in a nice little package and deliver it. Like, what role was made for me???

I share this all with you because... I think I figured it out. 🤣

All of these things are exactly why I've launched a Virtual Assistant business.

So if you're looking for someone who is ready to dive in and help you accomplish all of this things, with excitement & passion... I am your girl.

I have always been a music lover, and there likely isn't a genre that I don't have a favorite in. But when it comes to work, focus, and honestly sometimes just relaxing... these are my go to's! I've found that instrumentals are by far better for my work environment, because words become too distracting for me.

If I had to start over (on instagram) in 2024, here's what I would do:

✨ Be 1000% clear on who my target audience was before creating any content

✨ Have a clear brand identity

✨ Make 25 Canva Templates that I can reuse over and over

✨ Have a content shoot to set myself up with months worth of pictures

✨ Set a posting schedule that has me posting at the same time on the same day each week

✨ Make a list of keywords and hashtags to use on every single post

✨ Engage daily with my audience and new pages

Here's the thing... there seems to be a lot of bells and whistles to instagram nowadays, but when you filter out the "hacks" from the FOUNDATION, you will see that it's not as convoluted as it seems.

It's World Hypnosis Day and I didn't want to let it pass without sharing my story. If you know me at all you know I'm always up for trying something new. I also love to look for signs from the Universe. This story, is just that.

In 2021 I started the process of being a gestational carrier (surrogate) for an amazing couple. With that came a lot of "medical thangz" if you will 🤣 including medications/hormones that had to be administered via injection. While I didn't love the idea, I knew that I could do it.

On my 2nd injection, I had a horrible experience, that resulted in me basically passing out and my husband calling an ambulance. It turns out I had simply had a vasovagal response. Long story short, I was fine. But now... I had to complete close to 100 injections, full of fear and anxiety that this could happen again.

Insert a women's networking group that I was apart of, and I met who (without knowing my experience) announced to the group that she was looking for people to work with that we're struggling with anxiety around needles. ✨ The stars aligned for me and I decided to meet with her virtually to see if she could help me overcome my fear so I could follow through on my commitment.

Meeting with Jen was exactly what I needed. Not only is she the coolest human being that is so easy to talk to, but the process she helped me though changed everything for me. I don't have enough space to tell you about my entire experience, but I can tell you that I left our session with confidence and peace. I went on to complete 97 injections, carry surrodude to (past) full term, and deliver the cutest little boy.

Jen works with all kinds of people to release fears, break bad habits, attract more love, success or money, and more. If you're looking for a solution to something, do NOT count out hypnotherapy simply because it is an unknown to you. Reach out, ask questions, try something new. The one thing I started doing that immediately resulted in new customers...

There's a lot of noise out there on social media regarding what you should and shouldn't be doing. There's also a lot of really good advice, but it's hard to take all of those nuggets of information and turn them into something tangible that you can execute immediately.

So I started thinking about what ONE thing I did that yielded the best results... and that is when I dove into understanding and using emotional language.

What the heck do I mean by emotional language!? I mean knowing your audience so well that in your social media content you can speak to their deepest desires, wants, needs, frustrations, and more.

Social media can be quite different from the real world, but it can also be similar. People like to be heard. They want to be understood. They want to find their people... the people that just *get them.* They do not want to be talked AT.

Now there's a time and place for telling your audience about sales and promotions and giving tough love... but to get through to your audience in a way that makes them TAKE ACTION, takes time.

That's why, I spend most of my time creating content that tells a story, using emotional language.

Why do you do what you do? What is your audiences biggest frustration? What's the problem that they have that you can solve? How can you relate to them? What's your story that relates? How are you going to get them from point A to point B?

Emotional language is what closes the gap between consistent social media presence, and consistent social media SALES.

Save this post and revisit it the next time you're creating content!

I am beyond thankful for my clients, but even more than that, slightly obsessed. 😆 The (mostly) women I have the honor of working with feel like immediate friends. They're motivated, understanding, creative, and have amazing hearts. I love jumping on zoom calls with other moms as we talk work while simultaneously fielding questions from our little ones, and throwing snacks at them. 🤣 The women I get to work with definitely make me feel like I've hit the jackpot... and it made my passion project quickly become my soulmate business.
