Cheers to 52 blessed years on this earth. I try to live everyday like it’s my birthday so today really feels like just another day. A friend suggested I share my wish list with my followers. Ive always had a wish list but never mentioned it because I didnt want it to seem like I was begging 🤷🏽‍♀️🫣🫢. (Im used to being the giver) She also reminded me of a scripture about being prideful. Tips for fishing in cold weather. 🥶 🧤 🧦

1. Layer up!
Wear multiple layers of lightweight clothing to keep you warm and dry. You can adjust your layers based on the temperature and activity level. A base layer closest to your skin insulates your body heat.

2. Protect your extremities!
Wear warm footwear, gloves and a hat to protect your feet, hands and head from the cold.

3. Get licensed!
If you’re in Virginia or plan to visit, visit www.gooutdoorsva.com to get your fishing license. Need places to fish? Visit www.dwr.virginia.gov/explore it’s our online tool that has over 1000 places for you to explore. (Links are in my bio)

Oh the benefits of fishing! One is being able to create dishes with your catch. I caught this striper the other day and here’s how I cooked it. 1. I cut a slit in my cleaned fillet. 2. Seasoned it with @tonychacheres and @oldbay_seasoning. 3. Stuffed it with a seasoned spinach, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and crab meat mix (hand picked Virginia 🦀 meat caught by me) 4. Used garlic butter and avocado oil to pan sear both sides. 5. Made a sauce with heavy whipping cream, seasoning, squeeze of lime (didn’t have a 🍋) and Parmesan cheese. 6. Poured the sauce over it and baked on 400 for about 10 minutes. Then broiled it until it was brown and bubbly. 7. I planned to bake a potato and add the rest of the stuffing mix on top but my daughter and I tasted this, next thing I knew it was gone. Personally, I don’t like overly seasoned @virginiaseafood, I want to taste the body of water, not every spice in the cabinet. Don’t sweat exact measurements or seasonings when experimenting. Explore and use what you like. How did I do?
