12 years ago today, Mr Magic passed away of a heart attack at the age of 53. (March 15, 1956 The Bronx - October 2, 2009)

Mr Magic started his career in 1973, he was an itinerant Disco DJ, like many others dj’s at this time in Brooklyn. MR Magic hosted a radio show called “Mr Magic’s Rap Attack“ on WBHI in late 70’s. By 1982, he was invited by Frankie Crocker a New York radio personality to continue his show on WBLS. Mr Magic was one of the first to airplay rap music and to invited MC’s to do freestyles. On WBLS Mr Magic was the former of a young DJ called Marley Marl.
