Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Chakloo Baramulla, the Baramulla Police in collaboration with DMO and Irrigation & Flood Control Department strike on sand mafia at Chakloo, Baramulla.


The Police initiated the action under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Baramulla alongwith the officers of District Mineral and Irrigation & Flood Control have raided several houses in village Chakloo where illegal extracted sand has been dumped by the sand mafias.

The raids will continue in the Chakloo village so that accuseds will be booked under law.

Accordingly, FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations taken up.

It is pertinent to mention here that Baramulla police in its ongoing drive against illegal mining in the district, has registered 181 cases against illegal mining of minerals and soil in the district and has arrested 473 persons for being involved in extraction/ transportation of minerals during the current year.

Moreover, 472 vehicles used in illegal transport of minerals which includes 218 Tippers, 244 Tractors & 10 excavators have also been seized from different areas of the district.

*Impersonating as CBI officer, man arrested by police in Kunzer Baramulla*

*November 05:

Police in Kunzer Baramulla have arrested a man who was impersonating as a CBI Officer and recovered household items and fake ID cards from his possession.

Police Station Kunzer received written complaint of one persons namely Farooq Ahmad Wani, a resident of Wassun Bangil, highlighted a sequence of events involving a group of individuals - Javeed Ahmed Rather, Anjuman Afreen, Aaqib Ah Wani, and Rafeeq Ah Wani. The primary accused, Javeed Ahmed Rather, allegedly presented himself as a CBI officer to the complainant, brandishing a falsified CBI identification card. The accused has assured the complainant of securing a placement for their child at the NDA.

As the situation unfolded, the accused individuals resorted to theft, absconding with various household items, including a geyser, bedsheet, inverter, CCTV camera, LCD, and other valuables from the complainant's residence. Furthermore, the complainant was allegedly defrauded of a substantial sum amounting to 40 Lac rupees.

To this effect, Police Station Kunzer have registered a case under relevant sections of law and investigation was started.

Prompt action by the police team of Police Station Kunzer led to the arrest of the individual posing as a CBI officer with recovery of falsified documents, including the purported CBI card and some stolen house items was also recovered from accused house.

Community members are requested not to fall prey in the hands of such fraudulent people and share such information with Police. Our consistent action against anti-social elements shall assure community members that Police has resolved to act tough against such inimical elements.```

Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 4 vehicles and arrested 4 persons in Baramulla.

A police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized 04 vehicles (4 tractors) and arrested 4 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Tangmarg. They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan S/O Bashir Ahmad Khan R/O Khaminderpora, Javid Ahmad Mir S/O Noor Din Mir R/O Ferozpora,Rouf Ahmad Kumar S/O Ab Rahim Kumar R/O Hajibal Tangmarg & Mohd Shafi Ganie S/O Mohd Akbar Ganie R/O Hardu Ichloo Tangmarg.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigations have been initiated.

Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.

Infiltration bid foiled 3 Millitants killed war like stores recovered at Hatlanga uri

In a joint operation conducted this morning in the Uri Sector, contact was established with militants, leading to a firefight. During the operation, three militants were eliminated. Two bodies were recovered from the scene, along with weapons, including two AK Rifles, one Pistol, and seven Hand Grenades. Additionally, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and various other war-like materials were found. Notably, Pakistani currency notes were also discovered.

Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, *Baramulla Police* booked 4 Most wanted & notorious drug smugglers namely *Sajad Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Afzal resident of Mohura, Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo @ Munna son of Mohd Sultan resident of Heewan Sheeri, Bilal Ahmad Rather son of Gh Mohiuddin resident of Bandipayeen Chandoosa & Mohd Aqib Dar @ Babar son of Mohd Yousuf resident of Khambiyar Pattan* under *PIT-NDPS Act* after obtaining formal *detention orders from the competent Authority*.

The *booked drug smugglers* have been detained and subsequently lodged in *Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu*.

Pertinent to mention that *many cases are registered against these drug Smugglers* and were involved in *promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Mohura Heewan, Bandipayeen Chandoosa, Khambiyar Pattan & other areas of District Baramulla*. Despite their *involvement in many FIR's* they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.

General public of Baramulla appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Baramulla Police consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Baramulla police is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.

Police seizes 9 vehicles, arrests 9 persons in Baramulla*

Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 11vehicles and arrested 11 persons in Baramulla.

A police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized 4 vehicles (4 tippers) and arrested 4 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kulhama Tangmarg. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Lone son of Gh Ahmad resident of Ferozpora, Mohd Yousuf Lone son of Ali Mohd resident of Hariwatnoo, Sajad Ahmad Rather son of Gh Ahmad resident of Ratnipora Payeen & Ab Rashid Dar son of Ab Gani resident of Fejipora Tangmarg.

Similarly, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by IC PP Kungamdara & IC PP Mirgund seized 5 vehicles (1 tipper, 3 tractors & 1 excavator) and arrested 5 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khoresherad & Jheel Singhpora Pattan. They have been identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani son of Gh Ahmad resident of Shirpora, Mohd Ashraf Lone son of Noor Mohd, Shabir of Wani son of Ab Aziz both residents of Hanjiwera Bala, Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Panzinara & Aijaz Ahmad Guroo son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Check Razak Khan.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Station and investigations have been initiated.

*Baramulla Police busted Terrorist Recruitment Module; 3 Terrorist Associates of LeT outfit arrested; Incriminating material recovered*

On 10 Sep 2023 , on a specific input of terrorist movement in kreeri area , a joint Naka was established at Chak Tapper by SOG Kreeri, 29 RR and 52 RR. During naka checking suspicious movement of three persons coming from Chak Tapper towards Kreeri by foot was observed. While seeing police party and security forces, the said individuals tried to flee from the spot but alert naka party apprehended them tactfully. During preliminary questioning, they were identified as *Lateef Ahmad Dar S/O Mohammad Yousuf Dar R/O- Najibhat, Baramulla, Showkat Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Rasool Lone R/O Pusnaag, Baramulla, Ishrat Rasool D/O Ghulam Rasool Lone R/O Pusnaag, Baramulla*.

During their search 3 hand grenades & 30 AK-47 live rounds were from their possession.

All the three individuals were working with LeT outfit as Terrorist Associates and on further questioning it came forth that they had identified four youths in the general area of Kreeri and were about to get them active in terrorist ranks in near future. The above three individuals were the mastermind of the recruitment module in general area of Kreeri and were also in touch with active terrorists Umar Lone and FT Usman.

In this regard, case under sections UA(P) & Arms Act has been registered in PS Kreeri and investigation has been taken up.

*SSP Baramulla Sh Amod Ashok Nagapure-IPS* chaired a productive *crime/security review meeting at District Police Lines Baramulla. DySP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Pattan/ Uri/ Kreeri/ Tangmarg/ DySP PCs, DySP DAR, SHOs and Incharge PPs of District Baramulla* have attended the meeting.

The meeting was held to focus on presentations of SHOs. Action against NDPS so far this year, urge to further do more. Action against OGWs this year and how to do better. Focus on area domination, prevention of terrorist incidents, ensuring zero terror recruitment. Crime disposal- strategy to improve disposal,quality investigation, role of supervisory officers.

While interacting with the officers, *SSP Baramulla* reiterated the importance of strengthening the counter insurgency and security grid of their respective areas, besides taking stringent action against those involved in anti national & anti social activities.
