𝐏𝐑𝐎 𝟏𝟐 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟐’𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟎 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧

Police Regional Office 12, under the leadership of PBGEN JIMILI L MACARAEG, successfully apprehended Region 12’s Top 10 Most Wanted Person at Regional Center 12 Compound, Barangay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, on November 3, 2023.

Joint elements of Koronadal City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, all of South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 12, and Regional Special Operation Group (RSOG) facilitated the implementation of warrant of arrest against the suspect who is wanted for the violation of illegal drugs.

The accused was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of violation of Section 11, Article II, and Section 12, Article II of RA 9165 docketed under CC # 13343-43 and 13344-43, issued by Honorable Gerardo C. Braganza, Presiding Judge, RTC, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 43, Koronadal City, South Cotabato,dated October 12, 2023, with bail-bond recommended amounting to P200,000.00 and P40,000.00, respectively.

The accused was brought to the Koronadal City Police Station for proper disposition.

"No matter where they hide, the long arm of the law will reach them. PRO 12's determination to bring criminals to justice shows that nobody can escape accountability. We are dedicated to upholding the law and ensuring that justice is served," PBGEN MACARAEG said.

In a resolute and proactive operation conducted on September 14, 2023, the Intelligence Operatives of the General Santos City Police Office, in collaboration with personnel from Police Station 04, achieved a significant breakthrough in the relentless battle against illegal gambling within the city.

The arrest, carried out in the bustling heart of Barangay Conel, General Santos City, is a testament to the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold the law and protect the community from the pernicious effects of illegal gambling activities.

The suspect, a 37-year-old individual, identified as a married resident of Barangay Conel, General Santos City, was apprehended red-handed while actively participating in the unlawful act of Illegal Spider Fighting, colloquially referred to as "Paaway Damang."

During the course of this operation, the diligent law enforcement officers seized compelling evidence, including two spider cages containing live arachnids, a specially designed spider fighting table complete with attached fighting sticks, and a substantial amount of bet money totaling Four Hundred Seventy-Two Pesos (Php472.00).

Prior to being taken into custody, the suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights and the gravity of the offense he had committed. Subsequently, he was escorted to Police Station 4, GSCPO, where he awaits due legal proceedings.

In the words of the General Santos City Police Office spokesperson, "The apprehension of this illegal gambler sends a clear message to potential violators. Our resolve remains unwavering – we will not tolerate any form of illegal gambling activity, regardless of the scale or the amount of money involved."

This incident underscores the commitment of the General Santos City Police Office to maintain law and order and safeguard the well-being of the community, leaving no room for illegal activities to thrive within our city.
