The facts revealed in this investigation show how heinous the lies sprouted by people like Garth Hamilton actually are.

Garth Hamilton made this statement in the Chronicle “The horrible realities of war are unavoidable, but what was clear based on everyone’s opinions, this is a result of Hamas’ attack and when I was there, Hamas rejected the peace deal,” he said when asked about civilian casualties. These deaths are definitely avoidable, and a hundred percent due to Israeli forces. I am sick of his harmful statements and as a part of the multicultural Toowoomba community I am calling for a vote of no confidence so that he be removed from parliament immediately. I am also making a submission to have him charged under the racial discrimination act, I have 100's of screenshots for when his particular brand of political expedience involved attacking first nations people, as well as misinformation that he spread regarding Gaza. I rung his office to voice my concern, as everybody should do.

Poetry Day: A Vera takes a ride
We use to ride emus and dolphins
We now have feathers over our bodys
You in black and me in red
Inside a yellow man’s dream.
Start us up we’ll never stop
Gonna pump up your sense
Gonna rub in the juice.
Is it any black wonder
Is it any white wonder
Trouble and strife making love
They fuss crazies and screaming
Neighbours unto strangers.
We used to ride emus and dolphins
You’ve wrecked our living
Washing up, drinking, dancing
In engaging struggle, at didgeridoo, groaning and straining.
You made a grown race cry
You made a grown hate tearer
Some are lazy slobs
Some are marrying speed
Now mean mean machine
Open your heart starter.
We shine out in the sun
We living scared in being shined
You gotta feel to love
Shock dem, sink dem.
We are brothers in our own
Adolescence maybe cold running
You know chain and reality
Now quotes of conversations
Come once on a noise breeze
Like echoes in the name of
Guerrillas in another range.
We ride the emu fast
We speak to dolphins for us to ride
When we win the ministry
Don’t come wondering about.
We used to sing martyrs to the harvest
Of the leaving fruit
Just circulate passion surrendered
In our consolation of action
Ride dat dolphins and emus faster.

Dear Women,
We salute the resistance of Afghan women, the courageous fight against the Taliban dictatorship and the determination to fight for a just world! As the young women's organization ZORA, we stand by your side in solidarity on 8th March!

For more than 100 years, women around the world have taken to the streets on 8th March to fight against patriarchal oppression and exploitation. The history of women's liberation shows us how fearless, courageous and determined the women before us have fought against their oppressors, perpetrators of violence and exploiters. We look back on a series of achievements, a multitude of successes and reforms for better living conditions. But we also see how all these achievements can be taken away from us again by the hand of the enemy.
RAWA has been part of the revolutionary struggle against patriarchal and fundamentalist oppression for almost 50 years. For almost half a century, RAWA has fought against imperialism, fundamentalism and the patriarchy with determination and fearlessness, knowing that we can build a better world. In a time in which particularly young women in Afghanistan see no prospects for their future, in which they have no hope of a free, self-determined life, you as revolutionary women are the light in the darkness that organizes hope. RAWA lends women a perspective for life and does not allow itself to be intimidated despite all the existing repression and deadly violence.
Your courage, your light of hope has also reached us! We salute your struggle and admire your resistance. Especially now, in times of imperialist wars, growing fascism and fundamentalist regimes, we can learn and draw strength from you.
We have already stood together as organizations at the World Women's Conference and the Women's Revolution Symposium and united by the
revolutionary struggle, we share the same hope - a hope for a world in which we have equal rights and liberation.

ZORA

Today is International Women's Day, a time to reflect on the achievements women around the world have attained in more than a century fighting for their rights.

On top of this, the ASRC team is also conscious of the multiple challenges refugee women and those seeking asylum are still facing worldwide and, particularly in Australia. Many women seeking asylum and refugees have had experiences of being forced into the background, only allowed to be seen and heard through men who lead and make decisions for them.

The barriers and challenges that begin in their home country, through restrictions on education and opportunity, can continue here in Australia, through discrimination, trauma, lack of access to healthcare and other basic needs to truly have a chance to rebuild their lives in the community.

The theme for IWD 2023 is 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress', a reminder that our present and future efforts need to be dedicated to making opportunities and spaces for women while there are still noticeable gaps in various aspects of life. Investing in women is the only way to achieve gender balance, which is essential for economies and communities to thrive.

Today, we celebrate women and their resilience, especially our ASRC Women, from those who attend our centres to find a hand-up in their journey to safety, to staff, volunteers, and committed supporters.

"Investing in women's lives is an investment in sustainable development, in human rights, in future generations - and consequently in our own long-term national interests." – Liya Kebede

The Albanese government is pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into nuclear-powered submarines when students, workers and the poor are facing an acute cost-of-living crisis.

The submarines and the AUKUS deal are escalating the risk of war between the US and China. The dangerous nuclear waste from the submarines will undoubtedly be dumped on Indigenous land.

AUKUS is bad news for students and workers. But our own universities are participating in it: they're funneling students into war while they slash arts courses and student services.

So students are fighting back.

Join the National Union of Students rally on 9 August to demand:
1. No to the AUKUS military alliance
2. Money for welfare and housing, not nuclear submarines
3. No to universities collaborating with AUKUS and the military
4. No nuclear waste dumps on Aboriginal land

Hear her story👉🏽 bit.ly/3Q9Hzd7

Yesterday marked 10 years since our government chose to force more than 3,000 men, women and children to offshore detention camps. Zohreh shared her story as part of a new report: "Finish This Crisis".

"Finish This Crisis" touches on the stories of seven people our government chose to force to brutal offshore detention camps in Papua New Guinea and Nauru, after 19 July 2013.
