Author Duncan Watson Storyteller recently sat down with Beverly Stoddart of InDepth NH to talk trash. In their illuminating interview, Watson explained the big lie from the plastics industry that this material “is by default, that something should be recyclable because it’s got the chasing arrows on it.”

You can find their full conversation here: https://bit.ly/3VoJ4pw

Grab a ☕ and dive into Watson’s take on 32 years in waste management, possibilities for drastically streamlining recycling, his perspective on being Charlie Brown, and some truly astounding trash facts like this one…

“One of my absolute hugest bugaboos is aluminum, and when it doesn’t get recycled. It just drives me absolutely insane. The statistic I have glommed onto—it’s like filling up that aluminum can three-quarters full of gasoline and pouring it onto the ground. That’s the energy equivalent of what you’re wasting by not recycling that can,” he shares.

Watson’s brand-new book, “Everyone’s Trash,” could change your world. Get your copy here: https://tinyurl.com/muduwkx6

Congrats to our author David Goethel, Endangered Species/Chronicles of a New England Fisherman for contributing to ongoing research and publishing in a scientific journal.

I'm so proud. The Canadian Journal of Fisheries is one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world. My son Daniel and I each had papers we co-authored published in the October issue and featured as new studies. In my wildest dreams I never imagined we would be in the same publication! Fishermen and scientists are two sides of the same coin. Just read my book, "Endangered Species/Chronicles of a New England Fisherman," to learn why.

LAST-MINUTE REMINDER 🌲 Don’t miss wildlife specialist Eric Orff’s Official Book Release & Signing Gibson's Bookstore in Concord on THURSDAY Nov. 14th at 6:30 pm. We’ll be celebrating his new title, “What's Wild: A Half Century of Wisdom from the Woods and Rivers of New England.”

IMPORTANT NOTES:
🐾 Gibson's Café closes at 4pm, and turns off their grill at 3 pm. Make sure you grab dinner or a snack in advance so you won’t be hungry as a 🐻

🌄 Also, on-street parking can be scarce. Gibson's strongly suggests using the Capital Commons parking garage at 75 Storrs Street, which is one street east (or downhill) from South Main Street and Gibson's Bookstore. The 2nd floor of the parking garage stairwell and elevator exits directly onto South Main Street, one and a half blocks away from Gibson's (heading left, away from the lighted 4-way intersection).

Can’t wait to see you there! w/ New Hampshire Wildlife Federation
