IMO LED lighting (good quality, not Chinese knockoff LEDs) is the best lighting to use in indoor recreational grows for the following reasons
Light uniformity,
No degradation of intensity and uniformity
They produce less heat and therefore require less cooling than HPS, MH, and CMH bulbs.
They last for 6+ years if treated properly.
One thing that is not often relayed to the "Hobby Grower" is that because these LEDs produce intense light which leads to more transpiration ( the plant releasing moisture through stomata. Think of it as plant breathing) This can lead to nutrient uptake issues if you're not aware of certain factors. The link I am sharing explains this in a more formal way.
