It’s bittersweet watching our children be so carefree at this age. Our biggest fear is the day they lose that. As much as we want to we know that we can’t keep them from losing their innocence. Not from a traumatic event or anything but simply from knowing that being black in this country leaves them at a huge disadvantage in life and could possibly one day leave them dead in the streets. I know it’s morbid to think about but that’s what’s so terrifying about raising little black children in this country. We’re hoping and praying for better days. Our children deserve it and we owe it to them to do everything we can to ensure that happens.
