REP MEMBER DISTRIBUTES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO STUDENTS IN ONDO.
Students and parents in Ondo East and West federal constituency had reasons to smile recently as the member representing them at the federal house of representatives, Mr. Abiola Makinde encouraged their academic pursuit with the distribution of various types of educational materials to them.
The two-day event which was held on the 13th and 15th of November, 2021 at the Royal Event centre, Ondo was attended by dignitaries within and outside the state, students and teachers across the federal constituency. The programme was organized in conjunction with the Centre for Management Development and the National Institute of Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA).
Educational materials like notebooks, textbooks, desks, laptop computers, projectors and other instructional materials were freely distributed to hundreds of students and schools in Ondo East and West federal constituency to make education more accessible to the students and move them closer towards achieving overall academic success.
While speaking at the event Mr. Abiola Makinde eulogized the importance of education in building the right set of citizens who will continue the develop Ondo state and Nigeria as a whole. He also used the opportunity to challenge well-meaning Nigerians to contribute their quota towards developing the education sector in the country.
His words "we owe it to the younger generation to ensure that the quality of education and also it's accessibility is guaranteed to every citizen because as we achieve that, we are not only securing their future, we are also safeguarding the future of our state and our nation Nigeria by extension. I hereby encourage every well meaning citizen to rise up to the challenge and ensure that we invest no matter how little into educating the brains and minds of our younger ones. May God help us achieve that."
