The United States of America 🇺🇸 have appeared a number of times in these posts, this is due to the presidential elections.

On the final day of the countdown to the launch of the website, we look at George W. Bush and his use of this land is your land by Woody Guthrie. 🎶

The song is one of the most popular US folk songs, and was so even before G.W. Bush’s use of it. The song is staunchly American and considered very patriotic. However, recent arguments have stated that the song erases Native American culture.

🇧🇷 is a country known for carnival and samba, as well as this the presidential elections are known for their jingles.

One such jingle was used by the current president ‘Lula’, the songs name is Sem medo de ser feliz ‘Without fear of being happy’.

The song was initially composed in ‘89 but became one of the most popular jingles used by Lula. 🎶

While Nelson Mandela didn’t use the now infamous ‘Nelson Mandela’ song during his presidential election, the song became infamous with the former South African president. 🇿🇦

The song was released in 1984 to protest the imprisonment of Nelson Mandela.

The song is now considered one of the most notable anti-apartheid songs. 🟰
