Lyanne Alvarado is a dedicated arts administrator with a multifaceted career spanning artistic, administrative, and now fundraising as the Philanthropy Officer of Corporate Partnerships at Houston Grand Opera (HGO).

Prior to delving into the world of fundraising, Lyanne honed her skills as the Assistant Manager of Rehearsal Planning and Artist Services at HGO. As a founding member and Co-chair of the Equity, Access, and Belonging Committee at HGO, Lyanne has actively championed the cause of creating a more inclusive and accessible environment within the organization.

Recently, Lyanne was selected to be a Sphinx LEADer. With this accolade she is able to participate in a 2-year leadership development program designed to evolve the industry landscape by empowering the next generation of executive leaders.

A highlight of her career, Lyanne joined the inaugural cohort of the Clayco Future Leaders Fellowship at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, where she served as the Administration Fellow. Lyanne’s career also included a stint as the Artistic Administration Apprentice at the Glimmerglass Festival, a formative experience that contributed to her well-rounded knowledge of the opera industry.

Lyanne holds two Bachelors of Music (Music Education and Vocal Performance) from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master’s in Vocal Performance from Texas State University.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Lyanne is an ardent advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion both on and off the stage. Lyanne finds joy in salsa lessons, learning her mother’s authentic Mexican recipes, and building roots in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
