The good people at The Crafty Pint have nailed it, as usual. And while this beer is actually based on an ice cream Paul remembers from WA, it is also maybe our most ambitious yet.

Like Crafty says, it launches tomorrow at 5pm at Miss Moses in Brunswick. Come and see us, meet the brewers, and get yourself a glass of it. There might even be a bar shout ;)

Burnley Brewing and the podcasting Beerstagramers at Brunswick Beer Collective have been teaming up to turn cakes into beer since 2019 and in April 2021, they’ve released what may be their sweetest collab yet. The bad news, no launch party for the final beer in our Pie collaboration series with Burnley Brewing for obvious reasons. The good news, is that we've canned doit first ever beer and it'll be available from select retailers towards the end of next week. This might just be the best one yet. Watch this space for more details. 🍻

Well this is huge. 👍

Welcome to RB Abbotsford.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
For a little while now we've been working on plans to open an offsite taproom somewhere outside of the Sunshine State. Late last year we finally found a space we loved in the suburb of Abbotsford, Victoria. So, why Abbotsford? We've always felt a strong connection to Melbourne - the bars, the breweries and the people - our far away customers. We chose this particular space more specifically for its inner-city location, proximity to the Victoria Park train station and the charm of the building that we felt we could build into a welcoming and inviting space.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
As of last week, our construction is well and truly underway. We won't speculate just yet when we plan to open but let's just say that fresh Range IPA in the Melbourne Springtime should be a fairly strong chance. We'll be opening a 100 person venue designed specifically for drinking our beer. Intimate corners, long sharing tables and a sunny beer garden will all feature.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
We'll be cold freighting pallets of kegs and cans every week to coordinate releases with our Newstead home. Each Friday at 12:00pm, Melbournians will be able to get their hands on our latest releases in cans and fresh from our 16 taps. Shortly we will take delivery of our 3rd cellar expansion in QLD. This will allow us to produce larger batches of our beers, and ensure we have plenty of variety and freshness pouring in Abbotsford.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
To say we're excited is a massive understatement. This has been a dream of ours since well before we poured our first beers in Brisbane. We look forward to sharing a beer as soon as our space is ready and it is safe to do so.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
Cheers, RB.

Hey team,

Like many in the events and entertainment industry, it’s been a rough few months for us all. That said, it's been fantastic to see the success both in Australia and New Zealand in flattening the curve (great work everyone!), and to see social distancing restrictions start to ease. It seems the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter day by day.

We remain committed to providing that wonderful opportunity for craft beer lovers and breweries to come together in celebration (and a much-needed beer!).

With the ‘road out’ now more clearly defined and after consultation with key authorities, we feel confident in being able to stage our events in a ‘COVID Safe’ manner, but it does mean they will need to be held later in the year. With that in mind, we are announcing changes to our Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane festival dates, which includes the exciting introduction of a new Friday night session in Sydney!

Very sadly however, with the ongoing uncertainty around international travel to New Zealand and venue availability, we have consulted with our Auckland event sponsors and brewers and made the difficult decision to cancel GABS Auckland for 2020. Whilst this is extremely disappointing for all of us, we want to guarantee that the GABS Auckland experience is optimal for all our loyal New Zealand craft beer lovers, and our incredible brewers and partners that support the event.

NEW EVENT DATES

GABS Melbourne
Friday 30 October - Sunday 1 November (moving from 7 - 9 August)
Royal Exhibition Building

GABS Brisbane
Saturday 14 November (moving from 26 September)
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

GABS Sydney
Friday 27 - Saturday 28 November (moving from 29 August)
Sydney Showground

All tickets already purchased are now automatically valid for the new dates. If you can’t make it on the new event date, you can transfer your ticket to another GABS event or session, give it to a friend, or if you have any questions, get in touch with us at [email protected]. And as with our first postponement, all ticket holders for the previous dates will score themselves a 25% discount on all GABS merchandise (redeemable at the event).

We can’t wait to bring the GABS experience to life later in the year. And until then, please do continue to support your favourite craft breweries as best you can.

It's uncertain! It's locked down! It's a new podcast episode, but in both audio AND video form. From the highs of finding a new beer at a bottle shop, to the lows of avoiding public transport, this episode has it all, including some poor audio quality thanks to our friends at Zoom/general technology. We also drink two incredible beers by Mountain Culture Beer Co.

Egad! What a time to be in beer! Today we drop two brand-new podcast episodes! Both were recorded in collaboration with Froth Craft Beer Magazine just days before the shutdown of Bar SK and of the pub shutdowns in general. They're raw, enlightening, and full of booze talk. Here is the first episode featuring beer from Otherside Brewing Co. Make sure you listen to them in order. https://thecitylane.com/s18e01-the-uncertain-season-this-podcast-could-be-illegal-tomorrow/

Dear craft beer lovers,

At GABS we have always considered your wellbeing our highest priority, and want you to know that we are monitoring the Coronavirus outbreak extremely closely. The situation we are all facing is unprecedented, and our primary concern remains ensuring the health and safety of all event attendees, exhibitors and staff. To that end we’re taking direction and advice from the Australian Department of Health.

Based on the current advice, we are going ahead with all GABS Festivals as currently planned for 9 May (Brisbane), 22-24 May (Melbourne), 30 May (Sydney) and 4 July (Auckland).

To assist in mitigating risks of transmission, we’ll also be implementing a range of measures, including:

* Messaging in our email marketing and ticketing platforms to advise ticket holders not to attend, on the day, should they feel unwell (with transfers or full refunds offered).

* While we do clean and reset each venue between sessions, we’ll be working with our cleaning team to bring in additional resources and thoroughly sanitise each venue.

* We will be installing hand soap / sanitizer with paper towel alongside all water troughs throughout each festival to encourage hand washing.

* We will put together a range of procedures for exhibitors to follow to reduce the likelihood of transmission, including wash kits, sanitizer, bar cleaning, gloves and more.

* If deemed necessary closer to the time, we may sadly have to swap the iconic GABS Festival Glass for single use disposable plastic cups, and drop our ‘rinse and reuse’ program for tasting cups.

Should things change in the coming weeks, and our events need to be postponed for any reason, all tickets will be eligible for the new event date(s), and if an attendee is unable to attend on the new date, tickets can be transferred or refunds will be provided at the time.

We greatly appreciate the support of all our GABS fans, partners and exhibitors during this period. We will keep you posted as the situation evolves and we look forward to sharing another great GABS experience together soon.

Stay safe!

Mike, Craig and the GABS team
