In the 1896 Philippine revolution, the expansion of the Katipunan as a national movement would not have been possible without the revolutionary propagandists.
Dated January 1, 1896, Kalayaan, the K*K publication, was released in March 1896 and according to Katipunero Dr. Pio Valenzuela, it only had 2,000 copies (with 8 pages each).
Here's a fun fact.
When K*K only had 300 members in January 1896, after Kalayaan was published and circulated, the K*K membership expanded to 30,000 members. That's a whopping 9,900% increase in membership in just 5 months, or upon the Spaniards’ discovery of the secret society in August 1896! (Reference: NCCA on Kalayaan, June 4, 2015)
