News! Delighted to announce that tofusmell has signed with Hardly Art!

Rae’s debut EP for the label will be coming out June 30th, but until then, you can hear the lead single called “Basil Noodles” wherever you get your music.

There’s also an amazing animated video for the song by Callahan Bracken over on the YouTubes, and you should go check it out!

The EP is called ‘Humor,’ and it includes some of the best songs Rae has written, recorded, and released so far. I’m in awe of everything Rae has accomplished. He’s an incredible artist and person. I’m very lucky to know him and to get to work with him.

And we’re stoked to work with Matt Kolhede, GM at Hardly Art, and everyone at Sub Pop on these releases. Such a great group of folks!

NEWS!! I'm ecstatic to announce that beth torrance has joined our little Cool Adjacent Management family of artists.

Her music has been featured on New Zealand National Radio (RNZ), preeminent indie station 95bFM, and reviewed in Under The Radar NZ and various other publications.

She's spent time busking locally, doing in-stores/other one-off gigs, and going on a national tour of NZ opening for Kendall Elise.

Beth put out one of my favorite records of 2022 called 'Let's Move To The Seaside And Never Feel Lonely Again,' which was co-produced by acclaimed film composer Karl Steven. She's an incredible songwriter with a stunning voice.

New music from Beth is coming, and I'm looking forward to being able to share these new recordings. Exciting times!

Love this band!! Love this album!!

happy scorpio season 🦂♏️ our record is out everywhere as of monday. i have so much i could say about this album. i hope you find some time to give it a listen and sit with it. i hope it resonates with some people. i put a lot of myself into this and there’s a couple of songs that were tough for me to put out in the world; it’s hard to be this vulnerable when you default to turning inward, but maybe some of those honest moments can do for someone else what hearing some of my favorite music has done for me. this one’s for the scorpios and for anyone else who’s ever felt too much, too intense, too extreme, like an island that can feel too hard to reach. there’s beauty in finding a way to reinvent yourself. there’s beauty in not letting the pain destroy you.

NEWS! So excited to welcome Minneapolis’s best band in the land, Creeping Charlie, to the Cool Adjacent family! If you aren’t already familiar, I highly suggest that you check them out. They're set to play Mid West Music Fest at the end of April, with other midwest dates in May to follow. Links below! And some info too!

Creeping Charlie "makes music for cool older sisters," extending from sublime ballads to indie and punk rock. Comprised of sister duo Julia (lead singer/ guitarist/ songwriter) and Esmé Eubanks on bass, later incorporating Jack Malone on drums, and Harry Miles of Atomic Cafe on guitar, the band released their debut EP 𝘈𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 in May 2020, which landed high on the NACC radio chart, tying with iconic acts like Car Seat Headrest and STRFKR. Inspired by the likes of Mazzy Star, Built to Spill, and Nirvana, be prepared to both cry and get sucked into a mosh pit at their shows. �
Julia Eubanks draws from a broad palette of influences, blending a Patti Smith early punk ethos through a guitar-driven 90's Seattle pastiche, interweaving sonic experimentation with irresistible hooks. The 10 tracks on 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦— ranging from quietly reflective to all-out rocking— paint a vivid picture of youth and the alienating times we live in and how to find redemption. Since its recent origin, the band has taken the Minneapolis music scene by storm. Creeping Charlie is bigger than the recordings— it's invasive and everywhere. You may be wondering 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦; you can't.
